Where you’ll be

Rinlo, Galicia, Spain

This is a very old and quiet fisherman village overlooking the Cantabric sea. Perfect for enjoying nature and do biking, bird sightseeing or simply to rest from your daily routine and business appointments.
Five minutes’ drive to the west lays the now famous Cathedal"s Beach, with his impressive stone buttresses carved by the sea. Five minutes’ drive to the east you can visit the Indiana villa of Ribadeo with numerous shops and cafes and a beautiful port where you can rent a trip on a boat to sailing the river Eo bay´s.
Crossing the Santos´ bridge you are in the province of Asturias and Within minutes you can visit beautiful ports as Figueras, Castropol, Tapia de Casariego or Viavelez.
If you drive east for 90 minutes you reach Oviedo, the aristocratic and señorial capital of Asturias, where you can take a break refreshing yourself at Gascona street, drinking the local cider together with a tender meat, and then to make a literary photo with the "Regenta" at the doors of the Cathedral. If you love literature you can get the penguin edition of the book, and with luck, get to know his translator, J. Rutherford, the oxford professor who spend his summer vacations in Ribadeo.
Back in Rinlo, If you drive south for 20 minutes you can visit the old medieval ecclesiastical town of Mondoñedo, and try his famous almond tart with the atemporal sound of the numerous city bells, and then following south through Abadin and the "Terra Cha" reach the capital of the province, Lugo to visit his impressive Roman Wall, todays a world heritage site and treat yourself with a beautiful circular walk of two kilometres over the top to get the flavour of the city.
Next day If you drive west for 60 minutes you can reach the solitary and savaged Ortegal coast, with Viveiro, O Vicedo, O Barqueiro, Espasante and Ortigueira.
If you don’t have hurry and like the train you can make the north route from Gijon to Ferrol in the old fashion line of FEVE, before the state train company Adif, decides to put an end to this ruined local service. Rinlo has his own derelict train stop just five minutes’ walk from the village and the experience will probably be out of the ordinary.
