A lovely Arts and Crafts home in the village of Ossining on Hudson. One mie to the train which arrives in 45min-1 hour and runs twice an hour. The house has views of the Hudson, is filled with music. There is a good sized kitchen and deck. Internet, cable, and parking provided. I will make you feel at home and have a lifetime of experience to share in New York, the Big Apple! Aside from easy access to New York city, the home is in the middle of the Hudson River valley
filled with beauty and history. Nearby is Kikut, the Rockefeller Home, the Dia Museum, hiking trails and of course the river once described by De Tocquiville as the most beautiful river in the world.
I went to Ossining with the only goal of doing a two month clinical rotation. I found Alan’s place in Airbnb and everything seemed to be convenient and fair.
The room was large, comfortable… the house has all the necessary commodities and a great view of the Hudson… the backyard is beautiful. Soon after I realized that the experience would be far more interesting, personal and joyful than I expected.
I can give you many examples: When our car went to the shop Alan gave me a ride to the hospital… When we needed any little (or bigger) thing, there was Alan to provide help… He even took my fiancé and I to the Newark airport (We woke him up at 4 AM).
He has all the useful information, from restaurants to movie theaters… from nearby supermarkets to public parks (actually, I spent so nice times going with him and his friends to the most interesting places around). You can consult him on every practical (or profound) thing… by the way, he is a great piano player and his personal music collection is a dream-come-true for anyone.
What can I say?... We met him, only two months ago, as a landlord, but now he is a true friend…
Alan was a wonderful host! I could not have asked for better accommodations. During my stay, Alan made me feel like family. I stayed for several weeks during my work as an engineer at a nearby power plant. Alan took the time to give me a tour of New York on one of my days off. He was a very knowledgeable and interesting guide through the city. You can be sure of a safe, comfortable and enjoyable stay. I will definitely stay with Alan if I work in this area again, and I will whole heartedly recommend him to my colleagues. Thanks, Alan!
When plans changed, I came back for a second stay. Alan was incredibly accommodating. I got to see some of his friends and I know everyone loves him. Alan is absolutely a great and knowledgeable person and he made my stay in NY greater. I highly recommend his place!
This was my first experience with Airbnb and it was more than I expected. Alan is a very welcoming host who is an awesome jazz pianist! Although the town is safe enough for a young woman to walk around, Alan was kind enough to offer me a ride whenever I went out. The house is located in a calm neighborhood (how pretty when it snows!) and the train station is within walking distance. I can’t thank you enough for his help during the stay.
I stayed with Alan from for one month starting on October, 24, 2012. Upon arriving, he made me feel at home right away. The house itself is lovely with views of the Hudson River. Both the room and the house were comfortable and clean. He was a lovely host and basically shared the house with me. We often ate together and he introduced to many great things about New York. Being a musician, there was always great music in the house and learning about jazz and his many experiences added greatly to my visit. All in all, a wonderful experience and a totally comfortable place to stay.
Plus, I know we will continue to be in touch and continue our friendship for many years.

As a pianist and collectible dealer, i both travel often and am lucky enough to have a lovely house 45 minutes from New York city in the town of Ossining which overlooks the beautiful Hudson river. I am mad about music and the house is awash with music and good feelings. I am always interesed in meeting interesting people and sharing ideas and experiences. Many years ago, I took a doctorate in Psychology and worked in New York city clinics and had a small private practice.. I grew tired of sitting (!) and frustrated with Social Services that served nobody. Somehow, I fell into buying and selling folk art, toys,
music, etc. I have always been passionate about music, art, culture, and philosophy. I continue to strive for all that I can.
