The Space

Incredible find for a family or small group who want a comfortable, spacious retreat on our beautiful Garden Island!
The house is in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood and has a spectacular view of the mountains and distant ocean view. It is 10 minutes from Poipu Beach or Salt Pond for swimming, diving and snorkeling fun.

The house is very comfortable and spacious. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and features a king size bed and overhead fan. There is a third bathroom available downstairs in the office.

The kitchen features beautiful maple cabinets and granite countertops and terrific equipment. If you like to cook, this is the kitchen for you. It is roomy enough for three people to work in comfortably. It is open to the large and comfortable living room which features a big sectional that everyone can fit on easily while watching a late night movie or afternoon sporting event.

There is a deck downstairs in the yard area which makes a great place to eat and let kids play or practicing chipping golf balls. We have some beach equipment available which we can let you use.

You will be sharing the space with our kitty Isabella. You will be feeding her and we hope you like her as much as we do!

If you want a nice vacation spot for a very good price, this is the choice for you! Aloha!

  • Kim has a very nice home with a wonderful view. You should be a cat person to spend time there, but we are and fell in love with her pets. She is very accommodating, and if you let her know what your plans are for your stay on Kauai, she will offer assistance and suggestions. If you plan on travelling the island, be sure you are aware of rush hours, and there can be delays. Overall Kauai is a wonderful island, and Kim's home will help you fully enjoy it.

  • A special thank you to Kimberly for communication. Although we are in different time zones, she always got back to me quickly. She even checked in on us as we were about to make our way to the island.

The location is fantastic and you can exercise on the elliptical machine with a view of mountains and ocean. The neighbors are great and even suggested places we go nearby to see even more views of this wonderful community. We were able to get to the different parts of the island quickly. The north end was the farthest but the drives were all beautiful.

Although we ate in most of the time after supporting the local farmers and meat markets, we did go to the local tourist restaurant that was participating in the feed the local hungry children & seniors program and we ate at the restaurant that locals frequent. Kim's Kitchen was the best! Enough room for us to move about as we prepared our meals and snacks and they had spices and tools we needed for our meal preparations.

There is plenty to do on the island and Kim and Steve have all the toys you can borrow to have a good time while you are there. We were too exhausted by the end of our day out and cooking dinner in to relax in the hot tub that has a fantastic view of the stars. We thought we'd get in and fall asleep so we didn't chance it.

The two cats are really easy to care for. But don't be surprised if they come upstairs for petting and treats. They will let you know if you missed the opportunity to pet them when you were downstairs with them. Best of all, no litter pans to care for, just feed, give clean water and removal of uneaten food.

We loved this place and didn't want to leave. It felt like living on the island in our home without any hassles.

  • From the day we signed up to stay at Kim's lovely home, Kim was in touch with us to see what she could do to make our stay there perfect! Upon arrival Kim was both gracious and generous to us, giving us a tour of her home, providing food for us and opening her beautiful home to us for with true Aloha spirit! Her two cats were always there to greet us upon our arrival back to the house, and make the stay even homier. The proximity to Poipu, a favorite swim and snorkel spot made it very convenient. The hottub was an added treat! Highly recommended!

  • We have only good things to say about our stay at Kim and Steve's beautiful house. The house itself is spacious, light, and comfortable; very clean and tidy and with everything you can think of in terms of amenities (especially the hot tub - WOW). It was a real pleasure organising our stay with Kim, who was quick to respond and went to great lengths to ensure that we had everything we needed before we came over. Looking after the two cats was easy, and one of them grew bold enough to curl up with us for cuddles in the evenings. In terms of location, it was great; we quickly realised that wherever you're based in Kauai, you will need a car to visit the other parts, but we were able to rent Kim and Steve's car which worked out brilliantly and were only fifteen minutes or so from Poipu beach (great beach for our 2yr old daughter too). In sum: wonderful house, wonderful hosts. Thanks Kim!

  • First, you should know photos do not do this property justice! Kim and Steve are wonderful hosts, easy going and professional. Their home is spacious, bright, and comfortable with sweeping views of the mountains and ocean. There are a few restaurants in Kalaheo but If you prefer to dine in, the kitchen is large and well stocked with everything you need to cook or bake for the family. Also, the backyard is large and lush, a great place to relax outside with a book or to let the kids play if you don't want to go out. We had a wonderful experience and were sad to leave!
