My girldfriend and I spent 6 nights in this beautiful villa perched atop a hill with a perfect view of the ocean. The villa is nested in the jungle, surrounded by plant life and colorful flowers. The pictures simply do not do it justice. We spent nearly every afternoon relaxing in the hammocks and swimming in the pool and every evening admiring the gorgeous sunsets. Be prepared for an occasional monkey sighting!
Thomas and Lili were incredibly helpful and provided us with information about nearby restaurants, beaches, must-do activities, and tours. Thomas is happy to book tours or make reservations at restaurants, and he is very easily accessible by email.
We highly recommend staying here!!
Thomas & Lili are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed out stay in both the tree house and the villa. Thomas not only picked us up at the airport he drove us through town showing us the stores, fish market and bus station. While there Thomas booked two excursions for us that were amazing and less expensive than what I was going to pay booking it on line. I liked the location, a short walk into town yet far enough away that we felt we were staying on a wildlife preserve. While there we were visited by spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, toucans, macaws lizards and geckos.
What surprised my husband and I the most was the lack of bugs, I think all the lizards keep the population down. :)
Thank you Thomas and Lili for sharing your paradise with us you were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond.
Villa Malinche was fantastic. As many others of commented, the experience and views are far more spectacular than the pictures provided. Thomas not only provides all the information you need through the listing and once you book, but also provides a wealth of information upon arrival and at any point during your visit should you need it. We saw more wildlife (Squirrel and Capuchin Monkeys, Macaws, Parrots, a wide variety of lizards and birds, frogs/toads, butterflies, etc.) at the villa than we did while visiting Manual Antonio. Galleta - Thomas' go to taxi driver is phenomenal! He is super nice, funny and very helpful. The car ride to all the touristy restaurants and shops located close to Manual Antonio is about 15 minutes from door-to-door and relatively cheap ($4 to Quepos - $10 to MA). For this reason, I would not even bother renting a car. The walk down to Quepos is not bad. However, walking back up can be a challenge - especially attempting to do so in the middle of the day. I would only recommend/plan on it if you are up for the challenge as you will be eager to jump in the pool upon return. The pool and grounds are beautiful - we enjoyed our time much more here than at the beaches. Overall, the experience was delightful and refreshing. If you are looking for a place to relax, have access to tourist areas within Manual Antonio, and enjoy all that the area has to offer, then I highly recommend Villa Malinche. While it is clearly a little different than staying at a 4 or 5 star resort, I think the pros outweigh the cons, and the price difference and value for all the villas has to offer is unbeatable. We also had Thomas book us a sunset sail excursion and a tour of Rainmaker park with a guide (Henry). Both excursions were phenomenal and highly recommended. Lastly, my wife strongly dislikes bugs and critters, and she also had a phenomenal time here as well. From time to time a bug or gecko got into the villa; however, the are not pests and are a part of nature and the experience. Overall, we both highly recommend Villa Malinche to anyone considering traveling to the Quepos/Manual Antonio area.
What a scenic and peaceful place! It's evident that Thomas and Lili take a lot of pride in the rooms they rent out, and in the whole property. The room was built for relaxation, with hammocks and comfy chairs to take in the view. The open shower was really cool too. We had all the amenities we needed for the week.
Thomas and Lili were very generous hosts; we had to work on our laptops on the mornings and asked if they knew of a babysitter. They arranged for Lili's receptionist to forward calls to her cell while watching our son. They really went above and beyond and we'd recommend staying there for anyone who's looking for a relaxing vacation at a beautiful location.
Thank you Thomas & Lili for making our stay in Villa Malinche perfect. The villa is beautiful, contemporary and has all mod cons. The views are breathtaking and watching the wildlife from the comfort of a hammock became our favourite pastime. Thank you :)
What a beautiful and fantastic villa located just up the hill from the small fishing village Quepos. It's hard to describe the magic of this place - you are in the middle of the rain forest with all it has to offer combined with a luxury villa. We woke up every morning to the sounds of howler monkeys, birds and other sounds of the rain forest we did not recognize. The grounds are impeccably landscaped with plants and flora indigenous to the rain forest.
Thomas was a gracious and attentive host. Whenever we had a request, question or wanted to book an excursion he was always available. A true gentleman and a wonderful concierge.
The only negative was the wifi/internet connection. It was very slow and reliable to the point of not being usable. It was not a concern to us but I would recommend you check with Thomas before booking if you require something more reliable.
I can't say enough good things about this beautiful villa! Thomas is extremely welcoming, helpful and willing to assist guests however needed to make their stay unique, special and memorable. The villa is exactly as it looks in the pictures- except better! It is beautiful designed and contains everything you need to be comfortable on your vacation. There are beautiful ocean views from both inside and outside the villa. The property is very quiet and peaceful, the most tranquil place we stayed in Costa Rica. The location is great, less than 5 minutes from Quepos and about 10 minutes from Manuel Antonio. You get to experience wild animals including geckos, monkeys and different birds to name a few. The monkeys can get loud in the morning, but definitely made the experience fun and memorable. The geckos often come inside the villa, however they are harmless and didn't bother us at all. I would highly recommend the property and am so glad we stayed here! Absolutely beautiful!

Moved from Switzerland 16 years ago, just love it here! The people are "pura vida", life is so easy, the climate is very healthy! Very lucky to have purchased a big piece of property in the Playa Macha area, declared as green zone, where I offer the Tree House and Villa Malinche. It's almost like the National Park, lot's of wildlife and very peaceful, surrounded by lush rain forest!
My wife Lili is a licensed physic therapist, also with a great dedication for massage treatments, she can make you feel in heaven.... Don't miss an onsite treatment during your stay!
We are happy to share this relaxed jungle feeling on our property with the people we meet through Airbnb. Just lay back in the hammocks, taste the famous coffee and watch the monkeys fly by...
