Wow! Thomas and Lily were such good hosts and the house is amazing. We spent our honeymoon here and had a fantastic time!
A beautiful place! The villa had everything we needed for our 5 day stay here. We spent most of our time in the hammocks admiring the beautiful gardens and wildlife and cooling off in the pool. It is a quick walk down to town and only 5$ for a cab back up. Very easy to get to Manuel Antonio from the bus station in Quepos. A wonderful place with lovely hosts. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area.
Loved Villa Malinche! We had a wonderful 5 night stay. Thomas met us in Quepos and immediately made us feel welcome. The view and the grounds were beyond fantastic. The variety of beautiful flowers and plants was astounding! Thomas gave us great information on the area and booked our taxis and Sunset Cruise, which was also excellent. The room was wonderfully equipped with everything you would need, and with a beautiful decor. The pool was perfect and was very close to our room.
Thomas was a wonderful host and very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the little monkeys that came to visit and the eat the cashew fruit from the tree in our yard. Thank you for an excellent stay!
Thomas was most welcoming and helpful. The unit and the surroundings are most agreeable
My husband and I spent 10 days at Villa Malinche and strongly recommend it. Wonderful property - a combination of deluxe lodging set on a wildlife rich property. In our ten days at Villa Malinche - we saw all 3 types of monkeys as they came through in groups on an almost daily basis. (squirrel & whiteface daily, howlers only spotted once) We saw app. 5 toucans and countless other varieties of birds and butterflies. I've spent 6 weeks in Costa Rica and saw more wildlife on this property than all of the other Costa Rican locations combined. The pictures don't do the beauty of the grounds justice - the unit has it's own private yard overlooking the ocean from two different vantage points with beautiful landscaping. We spent our early mornings in the hammock with coffee just watching all of the wildlife around. We came to Quepos via bus from Atenas (30 minutes from San Jose) and were traveling without a car and found it manageable with taxis. With the distance from the beaches and Manuel Antonio, we averaged around $20-$25 a day in taxi transportation. We tend to do 1 to 2 activities a day so didn't need constant trips in/out of town. If you're someone who likes to pack a lot in each day, a car may be a better alternative. It is possible to walk into Quepos downhill (about a 20 minute walk) however it's very hot and requires at least a moderate fitness level. We walked down 3 or 4 times and even back up from Quepos twice as an endurance test, making a beeline to the pool afterwards. So it is possible, but given the heat and steep climb back up the hill, not likely a good daily option for most people. The pool is a wonderful respite from the heat and another great spot for watching (website hidden): Thomas and Lili - they were wonderful hosts and very available to help. Thomas picked us up from the bus station and arranged activities on our behalf. Lili was a dear caretaker when I fell ill (presumably from ceviche on the beach - really dumb, I know!). She arranged for a doctor to come to the unit and she stayed with me the entire 1.5 hours they were there, and checked back in on me in the following days to make sure I was ok. This was above and beyond hosting duties and was clearly because she's a caring soul. If you're lucky enough to get a booking - you're in for a beautiful experience! One note for anyone needing to rely heavily on internet during their stay, for work for instance. WIFI is offered and the signal strength was good enough (2 to 3 bars) for our needs of checking emails and visiting websites, but is restricted to a limited area and likely wouldn't be strong enough for web-heavy use. You won't want to work while you're here anyways.
Thomas and Lili were absolutely fantastic hosts. We loved our time in Costa Rica. The space was beautiful and we loved just lounging in the dual hammocks enjoying the view. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Moved from Switzerland 16 years ago, just love it here! The people are "pura vida", life is so easy, the climate is very healthy! Very lucky to have purchased a big piece of property in the Playa Macha area, declared as green zone, where I offer the Tree House and Villa Malinche. It's almost like the National Park, lot's of wildlife and very peaceful, surrounded by lush rain forest!
My wife Lili is a licensed physic therapist, also with a great dedication for massage treatments, she can make you feel in heaven.... Don't miss an onsite treatment during your stay!
We are happy to share this relaxed jungle feeling on our property with the people we meet through Airbnb. Just lay back in the hammocks, taste the famous coffee and watch the monkeys fly by...
