Peace and quiet

This home is in a quiet area.
Enjoy a quiet respite from the city in this architect-designed tiny house overlooking a meadow, deep in the woods. Located on 20 acres of land with private trails and Catskill-mountain views, this bespoke cabin feels blissfully far away from everything, yet it’s only a 15-minute drive from vibrant city of Hudson, NY. Experience a peaceful off-the-grid retreat —. Time moves slower here. The sky is closer. The stars, brighter. Note: NO electricity. NO Running water

The space
The setting is intimate, serene, secluded. Clerestory windows contribute to a sculptural play of light against gently angled, hand-plastered walls. Downstairs: A bold, vintage-inspired ceramic tile floor, a wood-burning stove, and a bay window with a window seat for long, lazy afternoons of reading. Upstairs: the loft bedroom features wide, white-washed pine floors, a comfortable full-size bed and hand-crafted cabinets.

Savor the pleasures of camping, of being close to nature, while experiencing the comforts of an idiosyncratic, beautifully designed abode. The cabin is well insulated, thus stays cool in the summer and warms up quickly in the winter. The cabin comes with a supply of drinking water. Cooking can be done indoors, on the wood-burning stove, or outside, on the Weber grill. Plenty of firewood (walnut, harvested from the property) awaits you.

An outhouse toilet is sited about 200 yards away from the cabin. There is NO electricity and NO running water.

If there is snow the drive is not plowed so the cabin is only accessible by parking at the end of the driveway and hiking to the cabin. This is approximately a 400 yard walk in the snow so bring boots or snow shoes and wear a backpack to get your supplies to the cabin!

Guest access
Guests have access to much of 20 acre property. The cabin is approximately a 300 yard hike from the parking area. There will be a cart you can use to haul stuff from your car to the cabin.

Other things to note
Update: I am building a house on the property but will not be making loud noises during your stay but may be on the building site located near the parking area.

The cabin does NOT have electricity or running water inside it. There will be 5 - 10 gallons of drinking/cleaning water and a large basin you can use to rinse dishes or take a bird bath. There is an outhouse near the parking area.
There is an outdoor shower and sink available in the warm months located near the parking area but this is shut down in the winter November - March.
The cabin is approximately a 300 yard hike from the parking area. There will be a cart you can use to haul stuff from your car to the cabin but if the trail is snowy or muddy you may have to carry your stuff so backpacks are recommended.

The driveway is not snow plowed so be prepared to walk 500 yards to the cabin from the end of the driveway when there is snow on the ground.

There should be plenty of firewood for the wood stove inside the cabin for heat. You can also use the firewood for the weber grill to cook on.

Pets are welcome but they likely will not be able to climb the steep stair/ladder to the bedroom.

The Hudson River, and boat launch for canoes and kayaks, is just a 20-minute walk or 3 minute drive away. The Stockport Creek, a conservation area, is even closer. In the opposite direction are trails on hundreds of acres that are protected and owned by Scenic Hudson. Fishing: There are striped bass and large mouth bass under the Stockport Creek bridge and under the Amtrack bridge, where the Stockport Creek feeds into the Hudson River.
