Very cosy space in a superb location. Away from the hustle and bustle, yet just 10-15mins away from the main beach areas. Ed was very thoughtful. From the "Aloha" greeting at the entrance, to providing beach accessories (boogie board, boomerang, towels, even sandals, etc.) and also toilet accessories. Amazing. The free street parking is a big perk too. Definitely beats the typical hotel-staying experience. A home away from home. Thank you for the hospitality, Ed. Both Me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
My wife and I had a great time in Honolulu and at Eds place. Although we didn't see him, he gave clear directions and instructions. The beach gear and snorkeling equipment provided was really thoughtful and an added bonus! Would love to return one day :)
Ed's place was just as described: a comfy, large studio. What it didn't say is that it's perfect for what we were looking for! It was a great measuring stick for what local life might be like. Saying hi to neighbors, admiring all the mango and papaya trees everywhere. And yet, it's just a stone's throw away from near-by Waikiki if you wanted it. More importantly, it's a short walk to Rainbow Drive-in. Though it's downstairs to a carport, it's all yours. No neighbor-sharing walls to worry about and coming back here at the end of the night or in the middle of the day felt like coming back home. It was exactly what we were looking for. Oh, and the air conditioning was such a life savor. So thanks again Ed for being awesome! And it was great meeting you for that quick minute! If we ever come back, I'd look for this place again.
We had a great stay at Eds apartment...it is very central! Bathroom and the room were clean and the bed was comfortable...
Plus was the snorkeling gear, towels and bath-stuffs!!!!
Think about there is no window to open in the room( but a/c worked well) and there is a dog hanging around in the garden (but harmless)
If you search for a base for your Honolulu-tours i do recommand the studio!!!!!

The neighborhood is very quiet and surprisingly close to Waikiki Beach (15 min walking). We didn't manage to see our host but communication with him was easy. The place was not so easy to find because the civic number is not visible, but once we found it, the info to enter the studio was accurate.
The room is as described, we found it clean and cozy. Plenty of towels and plenty of space for our luggage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was a great little spot, walking distance from Diamond Head State Park and some great little restaurants (get the açai bowl at the health bar!). We didn't get to meet Ed but the accommodations were great, well stocked, anything you could need for your stay - towels, coffee, shampoo, etc. Everything you need for a stay in the Waikiki area.
