I live in a full luxury doorman building (24 hr gym, laundry room on the floor, Concierge, wireless internet, cable, DVR, local and long distance phone, elevator, etc.) on the 8th floor of a 9-story building. It is a 1 bdr converted to 2 in a new building with all new appliances, roof deck, etc. From inside the apartment you can view both the Hudson River and Ellis Island.
Additionally, Hudson River Park is footsteps away with breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty, New Jersey skyline, World Financial Center, and Manhattan Yacht Club. Wall Street and the World Trade Center Memorial are also within walking distance along with a movie theater and Tribeca dining.
Subway access makes getting around the city quick and easy - close to the 4-5-6, N-R, 1-2-3, AND A-C-E.
I will likely be here too, but have a full time job that keeps me fairly busy. I have a small hypoallergenic dog (peek-a-poo) that is very gentle, quite, and mostly keeps to herself. The price includes all bills/utilities (a/c, heat, water, electric, gas, internet, phone, cable).
Let me know if you are interested. I am happy to provide any other information you might need prior to making a decision. I look forward to welcoming you to my home.
No loud music
No guests other than those previously communicated
Pick up after yourself
Treat my neighbors and doormen with respect
Treat my dog and me with respect
I will either be here upon arrival or leave the keys with the doorman
Make yourself at home and enjoy NYC
Amazing place! Amber is a great host! She was very flexible with my check-in and check-out time and helped me to find things around the neighborhood. The apartment is very organized and clean and I had everything I need. I highly recommend!
We are 3 italian friends, we stayed at Amber's for 9 nights. We had a fantastic time there. The apartment looks exactly as described. The location is perfect, really close to the subway and to the world trade centre, quiet and beautiful. Amber is the perfect host, not intrusive but really helpful.
We strongly recommend it!
Our stay at Amber's was great! The flat is very located and very easy to find from the different subway stations. The neighbourhood is very safe so even if you come back late at night you never feel unsafe. Amber is very discreet even when going to work on early mornings.
It was the ideal location to spend time in New York .
I definitely recommend this apartment for a stay in New York and specially for women travellers.
Thanks again Amber .
I stayed for 4 nights at Amber's place, with my two teenage kids. The first evening when we came there, only the double bed was made. I didn't have a clue where I (the 3th person) could sleep. There was an air-matras without air, and a couch. No pump, blankets or sheets. It's was late but I couldn't reach Amber (did she exist? Was it really a woman?). So after waiting until almost midnight, I decided to look in de closet for sheets. When we were sleeping Amber came home - from the front door you enter the living immediately. This felt very odd and unsafe, because I didn't even met her. This odd feeling stayed our whole stay. Amber was like a ghost in her own house. Instead of having a normal chat, she was very distant. No problem, but at the same time we were completely surrounded by all her personal pics and stuff. It didn't give me and my children a comfortable feeling at al. It felt like she did it only for the money, but she doesn't like strangers. The location dough, was great, so we were the whole day gone!! But our stay was uneasy and weird.
We were 3 girlfriends coming from Paris and we stayed for 10 days at Amber's apartment. The location is great if you want to be close to the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street and Ground Zero. The building with a concierge and a gym is convenient.
But the appartement was quite small and for 3 persons (+ Amber its 4!). The living room where we slept was dusty and the bathroom clean but a lot of dirty old bottles and no room to put our own. In the living room same thing nowhere to put our stuff except for a table. There was only one small 2-person bed, the 3rd person was sleeping on a dusty couch with 2 cushions with a separation in the middle. It was definitely not made for 3 persons sleeping there, at least we shouldn't have paid extra for the third one. Lucky for us and for Amber, we were not in the appartement at the same time as Amber had a business trip and we were out visiting most of the time. But since there was no door (we slept in a living room not a room), it wasn't possible to sleep in the morning if Amber was up, using her kitchen for instance). Anyways, maybe Amber should have rented her own bedroom since we were 3 and sleep herself in the living room because she had a bigger bed in her, and we would have had a little privacy...
All in all we still tried to be as friendly as possible because it was vacation for us and didn't want to complain. But this have to be mentioned, the day before our departure Amber told us that we had to leave the apartment at 10 AM whereas our flight was at 5PM (so basically we would have had time to leave the city at around 2PM). Even in a hotel check out is around 12PM! We didn't even get to leave our suitcases in the apartment from 10 AM to 2PM we had to leave them with the doorman! It was so rude, specially since we were such easy-going guests !
Amber (and Mindy) are great hosts and the accommodation is exactly as described. The area cannot be beat for NYC. Battery Park City is a small oasis apart from the hustle and bustle of the city, but just take a quick walk across West St and you are back into it.
The view of New Jersey and the Statue of Liberty from the roof is fantastic. The walkway along the Hudson is one of the nicer ones in the city as well.
The subway system is easily accessible and as there are a few hotels and offices nearby taxi's are plentiful and easy to get.
I stayed for an extended period and it was well worth it.
The reservation was canceled 39 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I have lived in NYC for about six years and work for American Express in marketing. I absolutely love living in Battery Park and NYC in general. It is easy to get anywhere in the city via subway, bus, or taxi and Battery Park provides a quiet haven among the hustle and bustle of the city.
I love to travel and have lots of energy, so my friends and I are constantly planning something in the city or traveling somewhere around the world. I like all sorts of music and absolutely love to dance and just have fun! I am also a runner, so being near Hudson River Park is amazing.
I am originally from Oklahoma, lived in San Francisco prior to business school at Duke, and have now relocated myself to New York where I will likely stay for several years.
My dog's name is Mindy. She is truly a sweetheart. She lounges around most of the day waiting for me to get home, so we can go to one of the numerous dog parks in the area. She most likely won't give you a 2nd look unless you are a dog lover and give her lots of attention.
