Clean and charming cabina with privacy, located in the middle of nature, calm 7000 sq mts private treed garden, the magnificent Playa Negra is at 700mts with his surf spot and his unforgettable sunset, ten minutes by walk, 2 with a car. For surfers beginners and also for swimming you'll find also there Sandy Beach. During low tide kids and families like to lay in the sandy natural pools of Playa Negra.

Tour advices and good plans, where to rent a car, hire a surf teacher, a horse or doing a bike trekking, and more hidden places as the good places to eat and have a drink.
Roads are bad in costa Rica and especially around Tamarindo. It can take you at least one hour to do Playa Negra-Tamarindo in case of rains, our district has only dirt roads, from Paraiso to Tamarindo (but they are rebuilding the road now). We strongly recommend to rent a car to be free of moving to not depend of some expensive taxis. After Paraiso and Tamarindo, public transport is non-existent. If you're looking for the crowd and for nightlife, this is not the place. Even if the place has all modern conveniences, it is surrounded with the wild, and more recommended for people looking for this kind of tourism.
-The cabina is no smoking area.
-If you smoke on the terrace don't throw your cigarette ends in the garden.
- we recycle organic, metal, paper, glass & pet.
- Here you can throw the paper in the toilets, we have a treatment plant.
- Water is precious even if we recycle it too, try to not use it excessively.
-Respect the tranquility of the neighbours and the wildlife.
-There is an outdoor shower to rince the sand when you come back from the beach.
We enjoyed our two days in our cottage on Ivan's property. It was a few minutes drive to the beach access, and probably a 10 minute walk had you walked. We walked into town one evening for dinner which was pretty darn easy. Our room was clean with windows and a screen door for a breeze. We felt very safe at night and also when we were gone during the day with our stuff locked in our cottage. The outdoor kitchen made for easy morning breakfast and the mini fridge made life easier. The bathroom is BIG and the shower has good flow and temperature! We had a few bugs but it as expected and nothing that a bit of bug spray that Ivan immediately brought to us to solve the problem. Indiana the sweet husky puppy greeted us each morning and upon our returns to the cottage. Ivan was a gracious host to us and we would come back in a heart beat!
The bungalow and outdoor kitchen were a perfect setting for our week in Playa Negra. Yvan and his family were wonderful hosts.
The property is beautiful and peaceful and the location was central for us to explore the beaches in the area.
We loved staying here.
Excellent experience overall. Yvan and his father were both friendly and helpful hosts. The cabina was clean and spacious, and the outside kitchen was great. Finding the location was much easier than we expected, and arrival was smooth. Very quiet, and a 15 min walk or 4 min drive to the beach. Please note that there is no air conditioning, so the cabina does get quite hot, even with the fan. We were very happy overall.
Yvan and his family are very hospitable, friendly, helpful and great hosts in general. Their place is amazing, we felt extremely relaxed, safe and enjoyed every bit of our stay. The cabin is really nice, clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a shower with hot water, which you don't need anyway :) Also the outdoor kitchen is fantastic and has all you need to prepare your meals or chill in the hammock. The entire place is surrounded by beautiful garden and all together is even nicer than it looks on the photos. We had the best time staying here and would recommend anyone to visit.
Very nice place and Yvan was truly a great host. Loved the outdoor kitchen. The closeness to Marbella and Playa Avellanas made this a great location for us.
My stay at Yvan's cabin was wonderful. Although he was not there, I was very well taken care of by his parents Lucien and Françoise, who are just so lovely. The property is beautiful and impeccably maintained, I felt welcome and safe, shared so many nice conversations and loved hearing about their wonderfully lived life. The beach is beautiful and about a 10 minute walk away, and I met some lovely people throughout my stay. It is a small quiet town, and there is not much as far as groceries go, but Lucien and Françoise were there to help if I needed to get anything and it was greatly appreciated. I feel like I've known them for years and certainly hope to see them again.
What a great spot! I very much enjoyed my stay, and Yvan's parents were very gracious hosts. Very close to a few wonderful beaches with great surfing!
I recommend driving over to Avallanas in the evening for a sunset surf party. Folks are out with their families and it's a blast.
One warning - (website hidden) Maps grossly underestimates the time it takes to drive from San Jose airport. Count on five hours!!
