Roads are bad in costa Rica and especially around Tamarindo. It can take you at least one hour to do Playa Negra-Tamarindo in case of rains, our district has only dirt roads, from Paraiso to Tamarindo (but they are rebuilding the road now). We strongly recommend to rent a car to be free of moving to not depend of some expensive taxis. After Paraiso and Tamarindo, public transport is non-existent. If you're looking for the crowd and for nightlife, this is not the place. Even if the place has all modern conveniences, it is surrounded with the wild, and more recommended for people looking for this kind of tourism.

-If you smoke on the terrace don't throw your cigarette ends in the garden.
