Interaction with Guests
I like to meet and greet my guests when they arrive, and to offer my advice about nearby cafes, restaurants and places to see. Occasionally, I offer to prepare breakfast, if my guests are interested -- this is something I really enjoy, since I love to cook! Otherwise, I leave my guests alone, but I do try to be available for them 24/7 for any questions or help they may need.
no smoking in the apartment,
I've been to NYC a couple of times now. Every time I go visit, I like to stay in a different neighborhood. It's my first time staying in Astoria and I think it's a really convenient location considering how it's only one train away from Times Square (and Port Authority). It literally takes like 20 minutes in and out of the hustle and bustle. Astoria is mostly residential and it's a safe neighborhood. I've stayed in Brighton Beach before, tho it's very close to the boardwalk and Conley Island, it can feel a little unsafe at night. Definitely not the case for Gokhan's neighbourhood. I will definitely stay in Astoria again.
Gohkan was extremely friendly and he made sure we had a good time in NYC. He's also a very considerate host. He worked in the evenings and nights during the weekend I was there. As a result, in the evenings, we would have the apartment all to ourselves with Lily - his very adorable doggie. We didn't hear him at all coming home late at night. We had a really good sleep. Gohkan, you're awesome!
The place was very very clean and there was no evidence at all of a dog's presence. There was no smell, no nothing. I'd highly recommend staying at Gohkan's place if you're on a budget and are not asking for a 6+ hotel treatment. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom and a hot shower are all I needed. Gohkan also welcomed us to use the kitchen but we didn't take the advantage to do so. (Why do you need to cook when you're in NYC?) He did treat us to some very special turkish dessert. Pistachio is my favourite. Thanks again! :) Over all a very very pleasant airbnb experience!
Geo and Lily were very nice and welcoming hosts. Geo's place is perfect for resting and taking a good shower after a long day of museums and walks. It is quiet, close to the subway and close to many restaurants and shops. We were happy with our choice.
Geo's place is amazing!
It's brand new and so, as you'd expect, everything is clean, modern and doesn't creek like some other NYC apartments.
It's located just off a main road and the bedroom is to the rear of the property, which means while you are moments away from countless food outlets/bars, you can also enjoy a nice quiet sleep.
The N/Q tube takes 20 minutes from his door to reach Times Square and the N tube runs all night - meaning you will have no problems getting back whatever the time.
The area is safe and we never saw any problems during our few days here. If anything, we were a little annoyed we hadn't booked a longer stay in Astoria! It has a big Greek/Turkish/Mexican influence and is much cheaper than Manhattan.
If that hasn't sold it, Geo's apartment has a private back yard and a roof top space! Lilly is adorable (she finally posed for a photo after a few attempts) and Geo was amazing a host. He went out and bought us milk for our tea, even though he didn't take it in his tea! He was easily the friendliest host we came across during our NYC trip (three different AirBnB bookings).
Geo was always quick to respond to texts/emails and I can't recommend his apartment enough. Hopefully we'll see you for a longer stay next year!
Taxi's frequently pass the junction of Geo's apartment and the cost of a trip from his to JFK was $40.
Was a quite stay mostly clean place
Would give it two and a half stars
The best place to stay in NY! Near to the subway in a nice place? The department is brand new, and we were allowed to use it all like it was our house. Gokham is a very good host and was always making our stay better. The description is just what the place is! We highly recommend this place and for secure we will be back next year.
Gokhan was an really welcoming host. He tried to help us as much as possible with everything. In the last day he even helped us to get to the subway station with our luggage.
The room was as described, the bathroom were fine as well.
Lili is really amazing little creature :) xoxo Lili!
The location is very good, 5 minutes from the metro station which takes you into manhatten in 20 minutes.
Neighborhood is also nice with places to eat, supermarket etc.
