Very charming neighborhood. I look forward to your reservation!

My friends and I had a lovely stay at this D503 in Cobbler Square! Great location - walking distance to the el and close to many bars/clubs/restaurants. Beautiful apartment with a spacious and open layout, high ceilings, and all the rights decorative touches to make it feel homey. Kitchen stocked with cooking ware and plates. HDMI TV + DVD player. Would definitely stay here again.
Our hosts were very quick to respond with questions and were very low key. Arriving to the loft is very easy from Midway airport. The red line ('L') is about a 7-10 min walk and there are many places to eat, shop, grab coffee and buy groceries. I came in for a few days for a conference held downtown and I walked there and back many times. To get over toward the river & Navy Pier it's about a good 40 minute walk at average pace and there's a Chicago Divvy bicycle station right outside to rent bikes.
The loft is spacious with plenty of light during the day but the walls are a bit thin and you can hear neighbors walking past and talking, however it was extremely quiet at night (more than many other hotels I've stayed at) even with the window open a bit. The bathroom is very small with just toilet and shower and the tub could use a little bit of updating but it is clean. Great, spacious kitchen for being a loft. There's also a very large closet (we had room for clothes for 3), hairdryer, iron and board which really helped.
If you're looking for a great place with low stress hosts I would absolutely recommend staying here!
Pros: affordable and close to the action, awesome little neighborhood. There's some cute boutiques across the street and a little fresh market down the same block. Check-in/out was a breeze. The space is exactly as described - the swivel flatscreen TV was especially appreciated when we woke up late in the morning. It's in a funky/modern building and has fully stocked kitchen.
Cons: place kind of smelled like the prior guests had left chinese food in the trash for a while before the cleaning person came by - a bit off putting and stale. The shower/bathroom is very cramped, the curtain rod is about to fall off the wall, and the shower doesn't drain well so you end up standing in inches of water after a 15 min shower. The walls are *very* thin - we heard the neighbor on the phone for about an hour during the day. Lastly, the king bed, while very soft, was actually two smaller memory foam pads laid next to each other and one of them is a little bit thicker, so you tend to roll to one side.
Summary - this is a great option for a couple if your goal is to explore the city and only use the space as a"home base" for sleeping and unwinding from adventuring. You're in a cool neighborhood and close to the L in the middle of the action.
This bachelor apartment is amazing! Lots of room, fully equipped kitchen, in the best location! Building was very safe, clean and quiet. Walking distance to a few subways and major bus routes.
Steve and Joanne were very easily accessible.
You'll love this space, I'll definitely book again!
Amazing location!!! Old town is beautiful and you can easily walk to downtown! (20 mins)
The place is great! has all the Chicago look and feel with the brick walls, etc. The complex Cobbler Square has great amenities such as the sun deck, lobby and GYM. Had a great time and would stay there again in a heartbeat!
With living in the same complex, being able to use your space worked out wonderfully. We have absolutely no complaints! This was our first time using Airbnb so please let me know if there's anything we should have done differently on our end. Thanks again! Carla & Trevor
