Interaction with Guests
One of us will be at home to greet you upon arrival and help you to get settled in any way we can. We like to provide you with as much privacy as you wish. We are on the opposite side of the house most of the time, so we do not hear our guests. We are home if you need us mornings, evenings and sometimes during the day. I work 4 days, Wed. thru Sat. and my husband is semi-retired.
It is generally very quiet, friendly neighborhood of homes built in the 1950's. Week days you can hear the train a couple times in the morning, if you have your windows open. No one has ever said it bothered them. The closest beach access is 2 miles from our house. Check out our guidebook for restaurants and fun things to do while you are here.
It is best to have a car or you can use Uber and taxis. We have older bikes you may use. You can get the city bus a short walk from our house. (I don't recomend this if you are a female traveling alone.) There is a shuttle service to and from the Orlando airport, DOTS or DO Shuttle.
Take the Seabreeze Bridge to get to the beach. When you get to A1A( the road that runs along the beach) you will need to drive a short distance north to get to a beach access road. You have to pay to drive on the beach in the Daytona area. If you drive south on A1A, there is Sun Splash Park about a mile down the road. You can park your car here for free and walk down to the beach.
The beach is open to vehicles from sunrise to sunset Nov. 1 through April 30, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 1 through Oct. 31. There is no cost for pedestrians and bicyclists to access the beach. There is a $10 per day per vehicle user fee to drive on the beach. The beach is always open and free to pedestrians and bicyclists.
Annual beach passes are $25 for Volusia County residents and $100 for non-residents. If you don't want to pay to park on the beach, go to one of the parks off of A1A, some have bathrooms, showers and playgrounds, other just have parking. We have maps in our guidebook.
We are an hour and a half drive to Orlando Theme Parks. An hour and 10 minutes to Kennedy Space Center and an hour to St Augustine.

I am a hairstylist going on 40 years now, I work parttime for myself in a small hair salon near home. I enjoy fishing with my semi-retired husband Jim in our little boat. Gardening is my therapy. We love vacations in the mountains and the Adirondack mountains in upstate NY are our favorite. Spending time with our 2 grown daughters and 3 grandchildren is the best. We both enjoy meeting new people from all over the world and hosting them at our home.
