The Space

Welcome to this beautiful 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment. It is at walking distance to many nice restaurants and shops, the Grove and the Farmers Market, the Pam Pacific Park and more. Very centrally located in Fairfax Village, one of the most sought-after Hollywood neighborhoods.

The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and it also has a TV. The bathroom has a separate shower and tub. There is a full kitchen with stove and fridge.

The apartment is furnished with beautiful artwork and 1950's lamps throughout the apartment. Hardwood floors and it also has air conditioning, front and back entrances.

Located in a very residential area, very calm and peaceful while same time just a block away from famous Melrose ave, right in the middle of all the West Hollywood action.

It is ideal for people that want to experience Los Angeles while same time having a "home" to go back to.

  • This home is in a good location and the pictures are exactly what you get. However, the house is not kept up and when we arrived the toilet didn't work, there were no batteries in the TV remotes, the fan was old and broken and had missing light bulbs in the light. Repairs took 4 days for someone to get there. When the bathroom ceiling light went out, it took another 4 days to repair so we were in the dark using flashlights when using the restroom. We stayed for 31 days and never received a parking pass, despite constant requests. Other than that, the space was fine.

  • Central located to everything! The place was great! Angie was amazing on communicating when in need! This place is tucked away but has so much awesome character! Literally like the jetsons! Great location a s such a fun spot!

  • Space heaters no parking pass. Strangers with notes on your door step. Wouldn't stay there.

    Response from Angie:

Dawn unfortunately has been one of our most difficult guests. From the moment she checked in, she started calling us at 6am claiming the house had no heat. I received messages along the lines of "you crazy (email hidden)@@tch" in the middle of the night, without having even met that person before in my life or gotten the chance to talk to! We tended to all her problems and needs right away. I sent my husband over to the house to show her how to use the central heat - that was the problem with the heat apparently, Dawn did not know how to use a thermostat. In addition to that, we got complains from the neighbors throughout her two month stay for marijuana smell coming from the house at all times! I consider myself a pretty liberal person, but there is something off when you host a family with a baby that sends you cussing messages in the middle of the night and receives drug complaints. I have been hosting people for years, I have 20 properties, and this is literally the first bad review I am giving...

  • Angie is amazing! So accommodating! I've been staying at Angie's places for years and never one problem. 5 stars. =)

  • Have stayed here for 16 weeks this year. This visit was disappointing. Parking permit non existant until the last day of a 2 week stay, cable tv gone, and the gas was turned off on the stove.Several things missing in the kitchen. Angie was non responsive but Eleni her assistant remedied as much as she could.

  • The positives: Great location - this area of LA is the best to stay as it is central to everywhere, and is a safe neighbourhood (which is rare). The apartment itself is also secluded, private, and quiet which is what you want in LA.
The Apartment matched the photos - I've been to places that don't even remotely resemble what you see in the photos. So its reassuring to get to a place and recognise it! There was a portable spare bed in the closet for my friend to stay on for a couple of nights, and the couch in the living room was really comfortable.
The internet was fast and reliable. I'm on emails every day, and its nice to be able to (website hidden) home while I'm away - I never encountered any problems!
Washer and Dryer are located conveniently right outside the kitchen door out back, so it was super easy to do washing!.
The bed was comfortable - I got a great night sleep the whole time I stayed there.
The artwork throughout the apartment is funky.

The Negatives - The stove and oven don't work. One of my main criteria when I'm looking for a place, is that I'll be able to cook for myself. Not having a working stove or oven meant I couldn't do that. I didn't discover this until the morning after I had checked in and had already spent a lot of money buying food to cook. So a lot of my stuff was wasted).
There was only 1 knife in the cutlery draw which was mildly inconvenient when I had a guest staying.
The bin in the kitchen didn't shut - which meant the garbage smell had no lid on it.
The shower had very poor water pressure. On a good day, it would be mildly strong. But there were a couple of occasions where it was literally a dribble.
Unlike the apartment description, there was no parking permit on the fridge. At first I didn't think this was a problem as I had no issues getting a park, however a few days into my stay I got a parking fine for not having a permit ($68). I got in touch with Angie to let her know so hopefully there will be one in future.
The Television in the bedroom doesn't work. the one in the living room does, though.
a lot of the lights don't actually work. All of the main house lights work, except for two - one in the kitchen, one in the living room. Most of the additional lighting (lamps etc) either had had no bulbs in them, or some of the bulbs had blown. It is quite a dark apartment, so it would have been nice at night to have the lights working.
The furnishings are mis-matched and old, and there is a hole in the wall.

All in all, probably not worth the price.

  • Once again my stay was just as expected. I have already booked my next 2 week visit. That will make over 100 days. Thanks Angie and Airbnb love being close to my grandson ,restaurants and Ralph's.

  • This space is in a great location and is really large. The decor has a clever 1950s appeal and its comfortable. The only issue I had was the shower leaks hot water constantly, keeping the bathroom like a sauna. Great space though.
