Guest Access

Usually people have own car; we are 10 minute walk from Freeland village. You can arrive by bus. The whole house, garden, yard, small honeymoon cottage, and beach are yours. Private driveway. Key location will be in house manual in itinerary.

Interaction with Guests

Baby Beach house is set up for privacy, self-service arrival and departure. No need to have me there. I can meet you if you request, but otherwise feel free to enjoy our house as your own. I live about 20 minutes away by car and can come if needed.

The Neighborhood

Quiet, peaceful neighborhood of second beach homes with weekenders and some full time islander residences. Walking distance to town and local beach park with dock, but wild enough for wildlife sightings. Usually the houses around us are empty second homes.

Getting Around

10 minute walk to the free Island bus. Best to have a car.

Other Things to Note

Truly great water view, wildlife and birding, walk to town, close to cute shops, quiet.

House Rules

*Please, pack your cell phone and charger.
*Check in time is 3 p.m., and check out time is 11 a.m., unless discussed in advance.
*please inform me if you plan to bring a dog and if you plan to bring extra guests. It's not cool to find more beds slept in than number of people signed up!
*Please, no smoking inside.
*There are recycling containers and garbage bins outside backdoor by laundry. We encourage you to recycle. Recycling on Whidbey is a bit different. Please take lids off plastic bottles.
*The maximum occupancy is 5 for sleeping over. Guests are welcome during day.
*We ask that no damage is done, beyond normal wear and tear. If damage is above the damage deposit made, please let me know and we will work something out.
*We have a new state of the art ductless heating system. Please turn down the thermostat when you depart. Firewood is stored outside backdoor.
*Please put the key back on the nail to right of front door.
*Please turn down the sheets of the beds you used so we know which to wash.
*If you have a dog please check for the lawn before you leave. We have a mowing service, so it's important the lawns are clear of dog evidence.
*Parking for up to 4 cars in our gravel driveway or beside the raspberry patch to the right of our driveway. Please don’t park on the neighbor’s lawn to the left of our driveway.
*The house comes equipped with bedding linens, towels, dish towels, and coffee maker. We try to keep it stocked with tinfoil, zip lock baggies, all the soaps (hand, washing machine, dishwasher, and dish soap; there are extra shampoo bottles as well), paper towels, and coffee filters. If some of these are used up and we miss seeing it, we apologize in advance. Please let us know. We often have charcoal briquettes and lighter fluid on hand for the BBQ, but you should bring some too.
* Please leave the house more or less like you found it.
* Last rule: relax and enjoy the wildlife and nature!!!
