We live in a wonderful family neighborhood in North Central Phoenix. Lots of old growth trees and plenty of character that is sometimes lost in the newer sub-divisions. Great restaurants and shops are walking distance (see our favorites in the Guidebook).
We are a 10 min walk from the Light-Rail station at Central/Camelback which goes to the airport. The Central Ave and 7th Ave bus routes are at each end of our street. All day transit passes are only $4. Cab fare from the airport is ~$30.
Casita Bonita was the PERFECT choice for our stay in Phoenix, with just the right amount of space, privacy, safety, and convenience. As an AirBnB host myself, in NYC and Lancaster, PA; I was really impressed with Eileen's attention to detail and comfort. Plus, she has a great eye for beauty and design. The AC system works really well and quickly (it was 104 degrees outside!). The kitchen is compact and well-equipt- great for longer stays. Everything is immaculately clean and new. The icing on the cake was a nightly swim in our private backyard pool. Cool and (website hidden). An extra bonus was a delightful morning chat with Eileen over a cuppa coffee, sharing AirBnB hosting experiences and tips.
Casita Bonita is the perfect place to stay in Central Phoenix. I specifically chose this place due to the close walking distance of all my favorite bars and restaurants. Very safe neighborhood and convenient to the airport. The guest house was wonderfully furnished with special touches to make you feel right at home! Michael and Eileen were great hosts very welcoming and warm like friends you have know for a long time! I will definitely make a return trip!
We had a fantastic time at Michael and Eileen's Casita. It was our first time in the southwest, driving in via Las Vegas. The place is located very close to some excellent foodie places, and Michael had several excellent suggestions for local art venues as well. It was a really wonderful stay, we already know where we're staying when we visit Phoenix again!
We had an amazing two nights stay with Eileen and Michael in the Casa Bonita. We drove in from Southern California to see the Hollywood Costume exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum (a must see!) and Venus in Fur at Arizona Theatre Company (terrific play!).
Our hosts were in contact with us consistently, anticipating our arrival. The space is comfortable, cozy, well appointed. The fridge was stocked with fresh fruit, a carafe of OJ and cold water, just what we needed after the long drive in 100+ degrees temperature.
It's located in a great older neighborhood, filled with old-growth trees which cooled down the area considerably. Walking distance to several nice restaurants and an ice cream shop that reminded us of our trips to Rome in the summer, strolling the quiet streets enjoying a cone of gelato.
Also there are several vintage shops in the area, many specializing in mid-century modern, something we personally appreciate. Found some great deals there.
Best of all was the quiet peaceful backyard with the lap pool at a perfect temperature for an evening and morning swim, and the birds in the trees singing. So relaxing! So much better than a hotel.
Thank you, Michael and Eileen, for making our first AirBnB experience a huge plus! We hope to see you again soon.
Our stay at Casita Bonita was wonderful. In Eileen's absence, Mike gave us plenty of info on local restaurants, places of interest etc. The accommodation was superb with everything and more you could ask for. We made good use of the barbeque and pool, and the peace and quiet on the balmy evenings eating dinner outside was very relaxing. The place was clean, private and had many little extras. We heartily recommend if staying in Phoenix.
Casita Boneita was our very first air B&B experience. It was a perfect way to start our vacation! We thoroughly enjoy the privacy, loved the lap pool, and the serenity. and the overall ambience was very nice. We would definitely like to stay here again if we ever are in Phoenix.
I would recommend you have a rental car if you plan to do any sightseeing. Thank you Eileen and Michael!

Casita Bonita is a beautiful gem! It is a very cozy place, with everything you could possibly need. The pool and BBQ area were so great to enjoy. The neighborhood is full of plenty of great options for dining/bars/coffee, all within walking distance.
The "Casita Bonita" was absolutely wonderful. Michael and Eileen were terrific hosts, and even left us some food and snacks in the fridge. The apartment is very private, and the pool is beautiful and clean. Inside is spacious and tastefully decorated, a perfect relaxation spot. Quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance to several great restaurants and close to the zoo and botanical gardens. Highly recommend!
We had such an amazing time at Casita Bonita. The space is perfect for two... so cozy, very clean, and felt just like home. We loved spending time by the pool and enjoyed all of the nearby restaurants. Eileen and Michael's hospitality and great recommendations helped make our stay even more special (and we just loved the fresh lemons from the lemon tree they shared with us!).
Casita Bonita is beautiful. Very chic. The pool was delightful, and the outdoor seating area was great for relaxing and reading. We did not have very much interaction with Eileen and Michael because they had house guests while we were there and also left on a trip. They were friendly and accommodating. We would recommend Casita Bonita without hesitation.
