We have a great Post & Beam Barn with bed and loft - the perfect space for up to four people. During the winter It's a bit cold as there is no heat, but if you like camping in the winter, the space is dry and has power and very peaceful.
Our house is 75 feet away where you can use the bathroom and kitchen.
It was a great stay at Robert's barn. We arrived later than planned, but Robert was very accommodating and welcoming. I had the best sleep in months in the barn. We hope to make it back at some point!
Robert was a very nice host. The accommodations were very nice and relaxing. We would stay there again for sure! Amazing relaxing weekend! Thanks so much Robert!
Robert is a great host and cabin is very cute and cozy. We enjoyed all of the alternative energy amenities in the farm house including solar power & recycled rain water. Another highlight for us was Robert's Sunday morning pancakes! His farm is a nice escape from the city. We highly recommend it.
such a fun experience!!
Perfect place for a weekend getaway from NYC if you're looking for an inexpensive option. We were a little hesitant about staying here the first weekend in November because of the cold temperature, but Rob gave us some extra blankets and we brought sleeping bags as well for extra insulation and we were just fine. Rob made sure to check on us every day and gave us a great dinner recommendation (definitely check out Carol Peck's Good News Cafe!). The bathroom and the main house were really clean and welcoming. Also, the wifi in the barn worked very well!
Such a magical retreat! We loved our stay in the barn. Robert was a gracious host and took great care of us. We'd definitely stay here again!
Our stay at Robert's was great! Hidden off the main road and through a canyon of beautiful fall colors, we found ourselves in a rural oasis. Robert's hospitality made our stay comfortable and easy. We spent the night around a warm fire and then tucked away in the cabin. The only noises were those of the woods around us. The nearby towns are quiet but with some exploration you can find what you need. Robert shared his produce from his farm with us and made sure we had a great stay.
Our family stopped here as a half-way point on a long road trip. We usually camp, so for an April vacation, Robert's place was perfect for us. We chose to stay both on our way to our "final vacation destination" as well as on our way home. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and Robert and the other residents at his home were friendly and inviting. We slept soundly both nights and really appreciated the peaceful, quiet location.
I stayed at the barn for a week to get away from New York. All I was looking for was somewhere quiet and beautiful (which it was!) but ended up finding Robert and the others staying with him to be exceptionally friendly and hospitable. One WWOOF-er who was there even came to couchsurf with me in New York.
I can't wait to come back in the summer and see the farm!
My friend and I had an amazing time in the cabin even though there was freezing cold. The cabin is lovely, feel like camping in the woods and looks just like in the pictures. Rob was a wonderful host, he gave us information around the area and shown us around his farm. He was so sweet to made really delicious breakfast for us, He was also quick to response our booking request and flexible with our check-in time. We definitely go back!
