About This Listing
This master bedroom, because of its size and layout, is ideal for either small groups or the single traveler. There is a full bed, a twin loft bed as well as a pull-out sofa bed. There is also a small seating area, with love seat and chair, a bookcase stocked with classics, a small table and chairs and original pieces of art. The space is largely self-contained so that guests can enjoy a bit of privacy if they choose. We offer 5 adult bicycles of varying sizes and 3 kids bikes for those interested in exploring Prospect Park and the City in general by bike.
Guests have access to the entire house, including kitchen and bathroom, as well as an additional bedroom if it is available.
I split my time between New York, Minneapolis and Miami Beach but when I am in New York I like to coordinate fun and healthy breakfasts for our guests. There are always several choices offered at no cost--there is always fresh fruit, yogurt, hot or cold cereals, bagels or muffins, coffee, tea, milk and juice. During the times when I am traveling we do have a wonderful woman named Alison who lives in the apartment full time and takes great care of our guests. She does work during the day but is generally home in the evenings to answer any questions or field any requests guests may have.
What we love most about our historic neighborhood is the access to the park. In an often hectic City, Prospect park is 536 acre oasis of nature and hosts countless activities including a new state-of-the-art ice skating rink, a lake and boathouse, horseback riding, running, biking and much more. Also in the neighborhood are hundreds of Victorian mansions which are well worth a nice walk or bike ride. There are very many great restaurants and shops within walking distance, as well as the beautiful and historic Grand Army Plaza.
Public transport could not possibly be any easier. The subway station is adjacent to the building, right outside your front door. And bicycles with locks are mounted throughout the apartment and are available to guests at all times for transportation and leisure.
We were a group of 5 persons. But we had enough space. And we had good time at your place. Specialy I really appreciate the place is very practical environment. Just next to the big park, and the subway station. We can enjoy to take a walk in the Prospect Park. And it is very convenient to using the New York subway. It took only 30 minute to go to Cony Island.
Al's Beds bikes and Breakfast was very clean and we had everything we needed. The location is indeed convenient to the subway. There were guests staying in other rooms of the apt., which we were not aware would be the case before we checked in.
What a great experience! Al is a great host, very fast to answer all of our questions and very flexible, we had a late flight, so our check in/out were some crazy hours. The apartment is very nice and cozy and a great starting point for seeing the city, subway just around the corner. The only thing we maybe would want to complain about is the cleanliness of the bathroom. But it definitely didn't ruin our experience. Al and his place come highly recommended.
My trip started very well with Al's place on Ocean Ave. The room was very spacious for one, and the apartment is extremely conveniently located just around the corner from the subway. I would definitely stay again.
Excellent experience. Large room with sufficient heat and beautiful African art/masks and colorful paintings. Room was clean, bathroom was clean and kitchen was big with ability to use stove, etc
