  • The Regency Inn delivers good value for the price you pay. For less than 70 USD a night in SFO, you can't expect a luxurious place, but the Regency Inn offers all amenities a hotel should offer.

The neighbourhood is not as bad, but there are quite a few homeless people and junkies around. I never felt unsafe though.

Breakfast is very basic and the room not very welcoming. That said, it exceeded my expectation for the price paid.

I would stay again at this hotel.

  • The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Very well located in downtown with nice staff and very large and clean bedrooms. Large breadfast in the morning including vegetables in a very clean common room.
The area might seems dodgy with a lot of homeless but absolutly safe. We went home at night several times without being disturbed at all.

  • The hotel has really nice amenities inside and the people attending the hotel were always really helpful and nice. I would really recommend this place if you want something in San Francisco, close to the city hall and lots of places in a walking distance.

  • The Regency Inn is ok for the price and the location, but I'm sure there are better options out there. We were made change rooms twice because the room was either being redone, or we couldn't use the shower. The neighbourhood is dodgy especially for women, there are plenty of homeless people around and the streets are not well lit. Breakfast was ok, it included bread, pastries, coffee, tea, butter, jam, juice.

  • Hotel was clean and had good amenities. Frig and microwave in the room were helpful. The downsides were that it was noisy. You could hear people yelling on the street/sirens at all hours of the night. Also it was cold around 10 before we went to sleep and we found out we had no control of the radiator, however at 4 in the morning it had become a sauna in our little room and we had to crack the window. It was so hot our mirror was steamed up. Lastly, the shower didn't work, and I was not about to take a bath in the stained tub.

  • I should have done more research before booking this one. The location is not the safest one. I was concerned about traveling in the Tenderloin - everyone gasped when I mentioned it, especially the taxi driver.

The room was mostly clean, the bathroom needed some attention, but the rate was extremely low for being in the city. The staff was helpful and available.

If you are brave and courageous, not traveling with a family - go for it.

  • Clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast and best price for this central location! :-)

  • * Front desk staff was friendly
    * Room was just like photos, perfect for the ~$100 price point. I wouldn't spend more than $100/night here
    * Everything was clean
    * No bedbugs and mattresses are sealed
    * I had a great night's sleep and a great shower in the morning
    * I didn't hear a peep from the other hotel guests
    * I did not use the internet while there
    * This is the Tenderloin. If you are a single woman, or not comfortable around street folk, don't like the smell of urine in the air on hot days, can't sleep with sirens in the night, this location is not the best for you. I lived in the TL for years and loved the "roughness" and I can tell you, you are safe here if you walk with conviction, don't step in the poop, and don't buy drugs on the street.
