One more big thank to Marco and his wonderful family. They made our holidays with five months baby really amazing. The house, the garden, breakfast and coffee in the terrace, Your mother's cooking and Parma cheese... everything was excellent :) and the best - friendly and warm-hearted host :)
We really hope to have opportunity to come back next Autumn at least for few days :)
Best wishes to all Your family :)
Simply perfect! The location, the house, the garden, the view, and most of all the entire family - indescribably friendly, welcoming, uncomplicated, helpful - I'm running out of adjectives. It's exactly what can be special about AirBnB, a special experience not found any other way. Highly recommended!
We decided to book this place since it is in the middle of Rome airport Fiumicino - Leonardo da Vinci airport and Civitavecchia harbour (20minutes). We were heading for a cruise which was departing from that harbour.
We experienced good communication and quick responses with Marco. He picked us up from the airport and has been looking after us pretty much all the time.
The villa is authentic, beautiful and clean. It is situated on a hill side and from the garden or veranda you will enjoy a gorgeous view at the surrounding and the sea. Sunsets are simply amazing. Our hosts are used to it but our jaws dropped and we could not resist, we took another and another picture.
We chose the room on the second floor which we can truly recommend since it has even a better view to the sea.
Marco and his parents Delia & Guiliano are the loveliest people. We felt as if we were family. They take really good care of you. If you get the change to join them for dinner please do. Delia is truly a great cook and the fresh fruit from their own garden is delicious. Although their english is 'rusty' you will have great conversations and lots of laughs. As an ex pilot and ex stewardess Guiliano and Delia have been travelling a lot. They understand travellers. That means you.
The three of them were very helpful, considerate and thoughtful before and during the stay.
Marco took us to shops when we unfortunately had to buy a new suitcase and a new hard disc.
We visited the old town Cerveteri, the nearby beach and the tombs.their place is a perfect base to explore Rome and surroundings.
In short, we highly recommend you to stay here. We hope to visit them again!
One of the most beautiful places we have ever been.
Marco an his family are such nice and wonderful people. We hab a great time at "Villa Guilia".
They helped us a lot with our trip to Roma.
Thanks for everything :)
Bill and I stayed here for two nights but would really like to just move in. THAT is how much we loved this place. The house is gorgeous, the grounds and garden meticulous, and the hosts are gracious. I hope we will be friends forever. After just two nights there, I felt we were leaving family. Delia designed this lovely 13-year old home. We were assigned the upstairs bedroom with private bath. . Delia and Guiliano and their son Marco speak pretty good English and we speak terrible Italian. It was 'no problem' because we some how communicated well. The breakfast is complete and home-made. Delia is a great cook. She and Guiliano have fruit trees and a lovely vegetable garden.
La Guilia is situated about 5 minutes from an large Etruscan burial ground. Read about it at: (website hidden)
The town of Cerveteri is charming. The drive to the Cerveteri marina is about 15 minutes. Rome as well as many other small towns are nearby. We only stopped here as a half way point between Piombino and Sorrento but will now remember Cerveteri fondly.
Marco and his parents were wonderful hosts, going out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome. Marco's restaurant recommendation was excellent, and his father even accompanied us to the town's phone & electronics store to purchase a pre-paid phone for our month in Italy -- at a friends-and-family discount too! Villa la Giulia itself was beautiful -- the stonework of the building, and the views of the countryside north of Rome were extraordinary. We highly recommend a stay, especially if you are on your way from Rome toward Tuscany. Just make sure you get explicit driving directions from the highway to the Villa.
