Trastevere the dense area across the river, is considered by many to be Rome's most authentic neighborhood, teeming with street life and overflowing with local color. At night, both natives and tourists alike flock to its many pubs and restaurants. The unique character of this neighborhood has attracted artists, foreign expats, and many famous people.
Step outside your door and find Baroque fountains, medieval churches, Imperial Roman temples and the shops, restaurants and people which lead people to call Rome a big "village". Trastevere maintains its character thanks to its narrow cobbled streets lined by medieval houses.
Just to the north of Trastevere is the medieval Borgo neighborhood, characterized by the powerful presence of the Vatican City and Castel S. Angelo. Both areas are ideal for those who want their stay in Rome to have more of a local flavor. Cross the river and in five minute walk you reach Piazza Navona and Piazza Venezia.
From the B&B you can reach within walking distance the following sites:
CAMPO DE' FIORI
SANTA MARIA IN TRASTEVERE
ACCADEMIA NAZIONALE DEI LINCEI
MUSEO D'ARTE ANTICA GALLERIA CORSINI
OSPEDALE SANTO SPIRITO

Two girl friends and I stayed in Tome for a view days. We had an amazing experience! The loft had an indescribable charm and a fantastic location.
Nous avons passé un séjours très agréable dans le loft d'Elisabetta. Le loft est très mignon l'immeuble typiquement italien et idéalement bien placé. Nous recommandons sincèrement cet endroit!!
i just loved the bohemian-apartment of elisabetta – and her as well!
She was very reliable, flexible and helpful with all my needs.
The location is perfect – close to the vivid center of trastevere, but far enough to get away from all the noise.
The Apartment is really cosy, cute and you feel instantly at home there. The heating works perfectly – what is not so common in rome.
Summary: the Loft is just perfect for a girls trip – two seperated doublebeds but still – all in one and close to pubs and restaurants…
In case u are more then 4 you can book the second apartment just next door….that also belongs to elisabetta.
Also very recommendable for Women who travel alone- there is a nice guy who lives on the same floor (he is in charge of the apartments) – so it feels also very safe!
Attention on those two facts:
two couples should definetly NOT stay here – except you belong to a swinger community…
If you are over 182 cm tall – showering is not possible- you will have to take a bath.
I will surely return. Tanti Saluti.
Hello, my friends and I stayed in the apartment Elisabetta and had a very good stay. The apartment is really nice and very well equipped. It is located in the Trastevere district and close to many sights. The area is busy, but the apartment is located in a street not too noisy so we slept very well. We have not seen Elisabetta, but we were very well received by the keeper and Elisabetta responded to our questions by phone. If you go to Rome, I recommend the apartment Elisabetta.
Elisabetta was a great host and the loft was really nice and clean at a great location in Trastevere. Elisabetta was there when i arrived, she had a map ready and explained about the neighborhood and how to get around. She had some good recommendations where to go and where to eat. We totally felt at home. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Rome.
Location very good and Elisabetta a lovely host but sadly the loft in Trastavere was a disappointment. It is only suitable for a couple with 2 children, certainly not 4 adults as there is no privacy just a net curtain between the 2 bedrooms! Access to the bathroom is via one of the bedrooms too, so please be aware of this. The apartment is very tired and needs decorating and updating. There was no matching crockery, the mugs were badly chipped and there only 2 dessert spoons, and no pans with handles to cook with or a kettle. In an apartment advertised for 4 people you would expect to get 4 of everything including chairs around the table-there were only 2! The bathroom I'm afraid is an accident waiting to happen; very poorly lit with 3 steps, an angle poise lamp over the shower and a switch for the light over the mirror right above the washbasin. If you are over 5 feet tall then you won't get a decent shower as it's far too low & the wall bracket is loose also. The tap/shower flow director does not work correctly giving only half the amount of water for your use. If you choose to use the bath it is very short. We noted that the washing machine was still broken and this had been reported on the AIr B&B website before we left for our holiday! Overall the apartment could be brightened up with more lighting and the access for guests coming home in the dark is very gloomy. We had to feel for the lock to put the key in!!! The ceiling fan controller hangs off the wall. There is no satellite TV for English speaking guests so if you fancy a quiet night away from the crowds take a book.
This is an apartment with a lot of potential in a great area for Trastavere and just a short walk over the river to the attractions but it does need some tender loving care paid to it. When we pay to stay in an apartment we would like to enjoy the experience of a "home from home" and enjoy cooking with fresh ingredients of the region but sadly as there had been little attention paid to provision of kitchen goods we decided not to even try. Please Elisabetta just realise what you have in this apartment. You want people to away with good memories and recommend your place to friends don't you? I'm sorry that we couldn't be more positive about the apartment but we agree with the earlier lone voice who a more realistic account of the apartment.
Thank you for your wonderful Trastevere apartment, Elizabetta. We enjoyed our stay--the beds, windows with wonderful views of the neighborhood, and especially the location. We loved your suggestions for restaurants, and the location allowed us to either walk to the historic Rome on the other side of the Tiber, or spend relaxing evenings and mornings out in Trastevere.
We chose this place because it's located in Trastevere which is a cool area with lots of restaurants and pubs. The apartment is great, we love the big windows which keeps the room bright. The shower is difficult (as mentioned before) for people over 1.80meters, best is to sit in the tub while showering in that case.
Elisabetta had instructions for the devices in the apartment. Also she created a map with recommended places to go in Trastevere, very structured :-). Although breakfast was not provided (mentioned in the advertisement), she provided us with some basics to make breakfast ourself during our time in Rome, great! Elisabetta wasn't around during our stay (except for meeting at the arrival), but was always available for questions per phone if needed.
Thanks Elisabetta for helping us having a great stay in Roma!
Trastevere is a great, local are to stay in whilst in Roma. Especially if you're in your twenties. Elisabetta is lovely and accommodating. Loft is cute and the windows looking out onto the street are great to open as the sun goes down to hear the city begin to buzz for the evening ahead. Only downside is the shower (not great for tall people!) Apart from that place and host are great :)
