Great place to stay in the harajuku area and also was very convenient being super close to the JR station. Beds were comfy and the shower was very spacious. Also, there's a few food marts within walking distance if you want to buy groceries to cook. It was also nice having access to a washer, dryer and internet too! A minor issue: had trouble figuring out how to use the TV even with the directions the owner left. Overall, great place to stay (for non party-ers since owner must have had bad experiences with loud guests in the past).. Pics also don't depict how upscale/nice the place is too!
Right in the hustle and bustle of everything! Very easy to get around and very modern amenities. No room to put your luggage in the second bedroom as it mainly just fits the bed and doesn't have a cupboard, though the main bedroom seemed to be a lot bigger. All in all a very good place to stay in Tokyo.
We (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at this apartment near Harajuku station. The neighborhood is very crowded with high school girls shopping and yummy crepe shops. Yoyogi park where we rented bikes, and a famous Meiji Shrine are also very close (walking ~10 min), and another beautiful shrine/park is just next door. This was the most expensive place we stayed during our trip, but worth it compared to hotels in the area. We also rented a large Kyoto home, stayed at a luxury hotel, and stayed at a traditional Ryokan.
The bathroom is the highlight of this apartment, and the main reason we chose it. The ofuro was the most spacious of any place we stayed. There is also a washer with built in dryer, which was very helpful. These things made the apartment worth the expense for us and because of them we would stay here again.
The apartment was very safe (must use the key fab to enter 3 exterior doors). The living/dining and bed rooms were spacious and clean, but cluttered with the owner's stuff. This is (email hidden)d in apartment. The carpet in the bedroom had some stains, but was clean. The beds are comfortable, clean, and warm. The kitchen is well stocked and a narrow galley style. There was no place for us to unpack our clothes. A small dresser, or shelves in the closet would be a helpful addition to keep guests clothes. There were also fish tanks all over the apartment. The tank between the sinks in the bathroom was a bit inconvenient, but the other tanks were in good locations. The fish were beautiful to watch and the sound of the water in the living room floor fish bowls was relaxing. Another chair for the kitchen table would have been very helpful too (only 3 chairs for us four to eat/snack at the dining table).
I think this is a lesson learned from host's stand point as mis-match of guest/host with Heather's case. It made me reconsider about selection of the right kind of guests + reviewing / communicating with guests more carefully before confirming the booking. Obviously Heather's needs / what hosts can offer may differ or may never match.
Also the guests may MISUNDERSTAND the concept of Airbnb. Hosts are not professionals like hotels or service apartment. Hosts offer private space so guests can experience real living in a city. Being a tourist, she probably did not even know that I had offered 1/3 of prices of equivalent facilities around the area. The guests said the price is most expensive of her trip - then again the term "expensive" is rather subjective, as most of my guests are saying the best value ever, and almost all left review as such. So hosts around the world do choose guests carefully. I thought I had been gracious enough that I did not ask securities to escort her /family out, when they reported to me that Heather had invited unregistered guests inside the building, which was clearly against the written house rules, due to STRICT BUILDING POLICY.
AS seen in the PHOTO I do not leave any personal stuffs so the room is messy. Most of them are guide books etc, I left for the convenience of guest etc.

Taro-San has a lovely apartment just off Takeshita street in Harajuku. Don't be mislead by the map location on this listing as it is wrong. Very easy to reach from the airport - Narita Express to Shibuya and then the JR Line 1 to Harajuku. Found it to be a good central location for exploring Tokyo. Some little supermarkets close by (FamilyMart, 7Eleven) so easy to buy some food to prepare if you do not want to eat out all the time. Taro was pretty good at communicating, although did change the maid that was checking us in at the last minute whilst we were on our flight over, which we did not realise until we had arrived in Harajuku, having left a message on the original phone number provided. It is possible to arrange an earlier check-in, however we were then encouraged to provide a tip for the maid, despite tipping not being widespread in Japan. Overall though good stay and good quality accommodation.

My husband and I spent a week in Tokyo and I can't say enough good things about Taro's place. Amazing location (two minute walk to Harajuku Station). Also a short walk to restaurants/shops in Omotesando.
Although it's one block from the craziness of Takeshita, the street the apartment is on is amazingly quiet. It's hard to tell from the photos, but the building is (nearly) brand new and immaculate. The apartment itself is spacious, comfortable and clean. Taro was a great host - super responsive and accommodating. All and all - this place is an absolutely amazing find in Tokyo.
What a great apartment in a great location - if you are looking for a cool apartment in the heart of the funkiest area in Tokyo, look no further. Easy communication & organisation and a beautiful space to stay
Amazing location and value- dip into the bustle of Harajuku and then retreat back into a pocket of peace and tranquility. With the railway station a 2 minute walk away, the rest of Tokyo opens up for you. Apartment has everything you'd need.
