If roughing it in a tent is not for you, or you're just passing through and don't have your gear, we've added this very private, fully equipped, cozy and comfortable 30' 5th wheel camper to our 21 ac, deep water, James River Farm. This is Glamping at it's finest in a beautiful, waterfront setting. To our knowledge, the only one of it's kind this close to Richmond. Just 8 miles of country driving from downtown, 39 miles to Colonial Williamsburg and a short hop from RIC Airport and shopping.

The space
Located on the river where America was born, this listing includes almost 200' of James River frontage and acres of land for our guests enjoyment. Please note: We are continuously working to make our property more beautiful and utilitarian for our guests. In the Fall of 2020 we regraded and reseeded some of the river frontage as well as a large field beside this RV that used to be farmed, therefor some of this area is still bare dirt as of 3/21 but the yard all around this RV is all grass. While none of this should effect your stay and there will be no construction while you're here, I just feel I need to mention it.

While we offer 2 additional options that include an economy minded campsite only, or a choice of two additional campers and many of the other amenities listed below (see our other listings under Cedar Crest on the James or click on my profile and scroll to the bottom), this listing includes everything we have to offer!

*Large 30', fully equipped and furnished 5th wheel camper

*Central AC and Heat plus fans for those cool days and nights where you won't need the AC

*Large dog bed with fresh linens (we have removed these because of the virus, please ask if you'd like us to supply them. Linens are $40 and are included in the cleaning fee. You are more than welcome to bring your own "clean" linens)
(All pets must be pre-approved, there is a $20 per night, per pet fee)

*Large 3500w super quiet generator supplies power to the RV

*Indoor hot water shower

*2 Kayaks

*1 Canoe (the kayaks and canoe may have to be shared with other guest)

*Weber charcoal grilling station

*Large Fire-pit with firewood (firewood is an extra $15 night or you're welcome to bring your own)

*Picnic table with large umbrella

*Small table w/umbrella and 4 chairs

*More yard furniture and a Hammock right on the river that couldn't give you a more relaxing spot to chill.

*High quality Yeti style coolers upon request

If you have a boat, the Richmond area's nicest boat landing, Osborne Landing, is less than a half mile down the road or river. There is also a great County park there with children's playgrounds, a fishing pier and hiking trails, and best of all, it's FREE! You can launch your boat there, ride up to Richmond and dock for lunch or dinner at Rockets Landing or take a sightseeing tour (including the famous James River Plantations) all the way to Jamestown, the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. There is even a newly renovated Café, The Lilly Pad, at the Marina next door featuring outdoor dining and music where you can grab a bite to eat and a cold one while watching all the boating activity. Enjoy boating, tubing, wake boarding, skiing, kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing, paddle boarding and just about any other water activity you can think of. Oh, and did I mention we are located on one of the most productive fishing stretches of the river!

Just want to have a nice relaxing visit where you can just sit back and chill? Enjoy the peace and quiet and take in the views where you are likely to see bald eagles, osprey, cranes, great blue heron, egrets, various ducks, Canada geese, boaters and more. At night, motion activated solar powered spot lights mounted up in the trees in the and atop the RV will light your way as you move about or land that monster James River Catfish! Eventually we will have the whole site wired where a flip of a switch will light up the entire riverfront until you turn it back off.

Want to take in the local history the Richmond area is known for? There are various tours in Richmond and a number of great museums. Civil war battlefields and forts are only minutes away, early historic American riverfront plantations, Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, two water parks, Bush Gardens and Kings Dominion are all within a short 45 minute drive of us. There are also is also hiking and biking trails nearby. There is so much history to take in and other things to do around here we will be happy to provide you with a more extensive list if you wish. There are also great restaurants, wineries, breweries, a large craft beer presence and nightlife close by.

Don't want to have to cook or store all your own food? I'm a pretty good cook, so I've been told, and will be happy to whip you up anything from burgers and dogs, sandwiches, Philly style hoagies and cheese steaks, my own Carolina style BBQ and ribs, all the way up to full blown gourmet seafood and steak dinners. This service is offered at additional cost and only when I have the time and provided you have made your request well ahead of time.
