Big Bear Hygge is a quiet, peaceful retreat in the mountains of Big Bear. It's close to Bear Mountain, Big Bear Lake + forest trails.

You'll enjoy modern conveniences thanks to a top-to-bottom renovation of this mountain getaway. You'll love the:
• hot tub + fireplace
• foosball table, board games, card games + books
• fresh, updated decor + brand new amenities, including washer and dryer
• flat, level parking + tree views

The space
Hygge (pronounced hue-gah or hoo-gah) is a Danish word that has no exact English translation, but means something like embracing a mood of coziness and happiness.

We wanted to create a retreat that allows you to be close to nature, enjoy those around you, and listen to your soul. Whether you're in Big Bear for the slopes, the lake, or the quiet, Big Bear Hygge is a mountain retreat that's your home away from home.

There are two living spaces, one on each level. The upstairs room has big picture windows with great views of the surrounding trees, a smart TV with a DVD player and a DVD collection, and a fireplace that's perfect for cozying up after a long day. Downstairs, you'll find a large smart TV, a foosball table for epic soccer battles, and a large collection of board games, card games and books. Both TV's have access to streaming services, so bring the passwords for your Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts.

The three bedrooms are spread throughout the house. The upstairs bedroom and one bedroom downstairs have queen beds with memory foam pads for extra comfort. The third bedroom has bunk beds and, with a star nightlight, is perfect for kids. We also have a pack-and-play that guests can use for little ones.

The kitchen is fully stocked, with a tea kettle and three kinds of coffee makers (standard, Keurig, and French press) so your early morning cup will be just how you like it. We'll have coffee, tea, sugar, and powdered creamer; if you'd like anything fancier, please bring it with you!

Guests also appreciate the full-sized fridge, brand-new black stainless appliances, and the little touches: from a pizza cutter and ice cream scoops to a blender and even a Crock-Pot so you can spend the day out exploring and come home to a warm meal.

At the end of your day, you can soak in the hot tub on the first deck, gaze at the stars above using our telescope from the second deck, and listen to your favorite music through an easy-to-use bluetooth speaker.

We have a full-sized washer and dryer on-site and a storage shed for you to keep skis, snowboards, or access the cabin's sleds.

Where you’ll be

Big Bear, California, United States

The upper Moonridge area of Big Bear is peaceful. It offers quiet, sleepy streets and is a 5-minute drive from Bear Mountain and about 15 minutes from the village and shopping. You'll see lots of trees reaching to the sky and neighbors taking morning and evening walks.

We ask that all guests are respectful of the quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
