As this is our home, we are always available to help with local knowledge etc. We love meeting people and making new friends. We are always happy to chat or leave guests to enjoy their break.
We live in a rural area, which is lovely for quite walks. There is also access to fishing in the area, and lovely forest and hill walks. The town which is only a 7 min drive, hosts the annual Junction and Busking festival in July and August. Another big attraction is the Coursing festival held every year in the first week of February, and the local horse racing track at Powerstown Park have several meetings throughout the year.
Daily Bus and train services from all Major Cities to Clonmel. We would be happy to pick up guests from either.
We do not allow smoking in our home. We would expect guests to be quite if arriving in late at night, this is for their comfort as well as ours. Guests are allowed to use the kitchen to make tea and coffee at any time.
Candles glowing, fire crackling, smiling faces. It felt warm, it smelled wonderful. And then I met the best bed of my entire trip! It was so sumptuous, and comfy, and warm. I've had three mattress heaters this trip and this one was by far the warmest and coziest. Tea, coffee, and soda bread in the morning was delightful, but not as delightful as visiting with Kathyrn.
We really enjoyed our family stay with Kathryn & Shamus. We were made to feel very welcome and at home. The bedrooms were super comfortable and immaculate. Thank you both for having us and introducing us to the Irish sport of hurling! We since have been sight seeing around Ireland and the children have been very excited to point out hurling sticks! We wish you all the best in the future.
The Dalligan family
Kathryn's was one of the warmest welcomes I have ever had. We had a funeral to attend to and after travelling on the overnight ferry from England and arriving hot and tired Kathryn very kindly allowed my family and I to shower and change ready for the funeral even though not all of our party were even staying with her. She was a lovely host. Her home was warm and cosy and the beds and bedroom were comfortable. The views over the surounding countryside and of the mountain were breathtaking. Thanks again Kathryn.
Kathryn and Shamus are just off the beaten path north of Clonmel, but they are in a great location for trips to Fetherd and Cashel (you have *got* to see the Rock of Cashel). They are also in a great position after a long day of visiting the gardens of Powerscourt or visiting Glendalaugh -- a great spot to rest and then carry on your journey. Kathryn and Shamus were both wonderful hosts -- very kind and receptive. They gave us a warm welcome, and we enjoyed many great conversations with them, and Kathryn cooks a nice breakfast. (They also demonstrated some growing skill with a nice little card game!) We greatly enjoyed our stay with them.
