Welcome to our garden in Amsterdam. Comfortable fully equipped greenhouse, built from shipping containers and lots of glass. Spacious retreat 15 minutes from Central Station. 960 sq ft, 96m2. Private garden and parking. 2 bedrooms (1 master and 1 bunk), sleeps 4 with the possibility to add an extra bed. Bathroom with shower and a small kitchen. Green oasis in busy Amsterdam city. Perfect for families and couples. Possibility to rent bikes. Free towels, linen.

The space
In our garden (extending to over 2000m2) you will feel like you are not in Amsterdam, yet the ferry to the city centre is only 8minutes away. From our home you can easily get to the cities of Volendam, Marken, Zaanse Schans or the lovely Waterland and Twiske, great nature next to Amsterdam; perfect for a stroll or bike ride.

Our place is pretty unique: made from two (isolated) shipping containers, and a glass house attached to it (double glass with windows that can be opened) you will not quickly find something like it; a true gem in the middle of Amsterdam. The sun will quickly warm up the glass house, so you can be nice and comfy already early in the season. For chilly nights we have a hand-built fireplace from steel with limestones, so it remains warm for a long time. There are also two electric heaters if that isn't enough.

Guest access
The access to the guest house is through the garden past our house. You will have private areas right next to the house.

Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

The area Kadoelen ("Quadolen") has been around since the 14th century and used to belong to the neighbouring village Landsmeer, until it became part of Amsterdam in the 1960's. You still have that village feel about it (you enter our property via a small bridge). It's leafy, green, with a mix of families, couples, elderly. Yet in 8 minutes you arrive to the NDSM wharf, a former ship yard that has now transformed into a great place with restaurants, bars, cafes, museums.

Mum of four boys. Happily married to Bas. Loves cooking, eating, food. Spend a lot of time gardening besides freelance work. Used to live abroad for 12 years in Paris, Barcelona, London and Lausanne before relocating back to Amsterdam (so I speak Spanish, French, English and a bit of German).

During your stay
We live here with our four boys, so I am often around for questions or any help that's needed. Our boys play in the garden too.
