About this listing

A beautiful space in the middle of a chestnuts forest, in Monte Amiata, Tuscany, surrounded by nature and history.
Situated between Castel del Piano and Seggiano, in the gorgeous valley named Conca d'Oro, really nearby the famous Val D'Orcia.
The room is part of an ancient and traditional restored stone cottage with a huge history of storing and drying chestnuts in the past, long time ago...

The space

Terra delle Sidhe is a small organic farm located in southern Tuscany overlooking a beautiful valley located on the slopes of Monte Amiata, between the medieval towns of Castel del Piano and Seggiano.

The landscape has the peculiarity of a typical natural forest and the diversified productivity typical of organic farms.

The estate is spread over three acres of chestnut trees, IGP marroniAmiata, a precious olive variety of DOP Olivastra Seggianese and cherry trees over a hundred years old.

A rich variety of fruit trees, medicinal plants, a biodynamic garden, chestnut flour, extra virgin olive oil, natural soaps, delicious teas and jams complete the range of organic products produced on our farm.

Guest access

Excellent free internet connexion.
The common areas are the kitchen and the living room, and the huge garden outside, in case the other room is also booked you should share the only bathroom we have in the house.
In winter we hit the house with two nice fireplaces, using our precious wood that comes from the forest.
Genuine Breakfast with our jams and homemade bread is optional with an extra feed.

Interaction with guests

We like people and share in a genuine way involving people in our daily activities in the farm, so our guests are welcome to participate and enjoy us in a natural and authentic atmosphere.

Luisa's home was a magical escape in the middle of Tuscany. The property terms with life and was a peaceful escape from more hectic destinations on our trip to Italy. Despite others staying on the property while we were there, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The house was equipped with everything that you need to make your stay as homely as possible, perfect for cooking in and enjoying meals in Tuscan evenings in the calm of the valley. As a host Luisa was consummate, friendly and thoughtful. She communicated well with us and gave an exhaustive list of activities in the area - although the property proves hard to leave. Could not reccomend more highly.

The stay here in Seggiano has been an absolute highlight of our trip. The care and love that has been placed into this little oasis is clear from the moment you arrive. The cottage is just beautiful and very homely. We cooked most nights as the kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils and even spices, oil, tea etc. There is a lovely sitting or dining space too. The fireplace was a welcomed addition and so easy to manage given the evenings were cooler. The bedroom was spacious and bed super comfy with a lovely window looking out to the garden. We enjoyed many walks amongst the bushland on the property and the surrounding towns with access to restaurants, cafes, museums, churches are super close. Luisa was full of many helpful suggestions. We also made a trip to Mount Amiata and to the Hot Springs in Bagni San Filippo - thoroughly enjoyed. This is the perfect place to really get back in touch with nature and enjoy peace and quiet. Luisa is a caring and beautiful host with a real passion for the environment. The overall stay really exceeded all our expectations.

This is the second time we've stayed here and we had a great time as before. Luisa is a lovely host and has great friends in the region. We picked and ate mushrooms on her farm and had lovely walks on the farm and to the town (which has good restaurants and gelato and a book store and delightful little streets to walk). The room is very comfortable and quiet, so we slept well. The kitchen is well equipped so we cooked some memorable meals. Her dog, cats and chickens are all friendly and charming. Will definitely be coming back again.

The time we stayed at Luisas place she was on vacation herself so we communicated and met Sabrina, a good friend of Luisa. Sabrina is a very lovely and friendly person who we met in Castel del Piano since she wanted to help us find our way to the house, because it is located at the countryside. After that she gave us a lot of helpful information about the surrounding and what is worth visiting (Bagni di San Filipo, Pienza etc.) The house was very beautiful and cosy and we loved to meet the chickens, cat and the dog who lived in the garden. It is the best place to enjoy the tuscan landscape atmosphere, I would definitely recommend it! The only room for improvement would be to put some mosquito net at the windows since we had a lot of those in the rooms (and therefore several bites despite of using anti-mosquito spray), spiders, little bugs, and unfortunately one time a scorpion. But all in all it was great to stay at Luisas place and we enjoyed the italian weather, atmosphere, food and people. :)

We loved staying at Luisa's place - we so enjoyed meeting Luisa and being in her space was such a blessing - the magic of the area and the care she has put into the curation of the space. Highly recommended. It was such a treat we stayed an extra night and hope to come back again when we are next in Europe.
