Comfortable double bed in private room in spacious house in a quiet neighbourhood.
Private bathroom (three-piece, with great reading material) with shared use of rest of house (kitchen, living room and garden in nice weather, although for the most part it would be your own private use of the living areas as I have my own suite with full bath and sitting area in the basement). No dishwasher.
The house itself is light and airy with wooden floors and oriental carpets, filled with lots of artwork, plants and books (which you are welcome to borrow while you're here).
No cable TV , but wifi. Alll linens provided.
Very close to BOTH downtown Kitchener and Waterloo. (The house is located pretty well at the boundary between the two cities.)
Parking for one car and lots of good public transit nearby.
And, although the picture would seem to indicate otherwise, there is no longer a dog living in this house.
This is a smoke-free environment.
I am happy to help you find places to visit or to dine out at. We have some pretty great restaurants here. I look forward to hearing from you!
Full disclosure: there is another apartment on the upper two levels of the house with one tenant, who can sometimes be heard -- so I can't promise perfect silence all the time. Also I am a shift worker, so sometimes must do night shifts, which are not the best times to visit. But drop me a line and hopefully we can works something out.
Kate was very friendly and welcoming. She made me feel like a friend and I like I was at home.
I was very happy with my accommodations. The room was just as she described – cozy, comfortable, and clean. The private bathroom was clean and the shared living space was warm and inviting.
I stayed two nights (had business in Waterloo). It was very close to the Waterloo-Kitchner Regional Airport and the offices of my business partners in Waterloo.
I will definitely be back the next time my business brings me to Waterloo again.
Our pleasant stay at Kate's was more than excellent. Beautiful home, awesome decor, toasty warm, great time. Winter wonderland, huge snow drifts, lots of snow.
Kates home is close to either Waterloo / Pearson Toronto Airport's. We have flying time from and to both.
Wish we had more time to spend with Kate, we were gone from her place all day and most of night.
Thanks for attending to our needs and desires, with care and swiftly also. Hope to see ya again.

I had a comfortable stay at Kate s place. She is responsive and makes sure her guests needs are attended to
Kathryn's place was well kept and very restful, and she was a great hostess. I would happily stay there again.
I was driving from the other side of Toronto and needed a place to stay in Kitchener in the aftermath of the ice storm. Kate was so understanding and able to accommodate me within hours of my request. Her place is central with a funky art-feel that I just loved. I will be back.
Although Kate and I didn’t get to meet, albeit through the phone calls and email, she made me feel right at home in all that she did for my stay with her. The room was beautiful, cosy warm with the very comfortable bed, shelves lined with books, and an immaculately clean bathroom for my own use.
The area of the home is easily accessible to all that I needed and easy to get to.
I will be returning to the area for work, and will hope to again stay with Kate in her AMAZING home.
Well done Kate, and thanks again for everything.
Kate me feel at home immediately. She was very accommodating, willingly turning up the heat (autumn temperatures vary so much) for me when I was chilly and readily checked my comfort level that first night before I settled into bed. I wondered if I'd sleep comfortably enough on the mattress provided after I checked it out. I hoped for the best and ended up sleeping well all three nights, thankfully. I should also mention that Kate courteously gave me the opportunity to bow out well before my arrival date as soon as she found out that her tenant upstairs would be having people over one evening during Octoberfest; I decided to stick to the booking due to my late evening plans. All worked out fine. There was no noisy party as it turned out. Kate's home is walking distance from the train station, a key reason why I chose to stay there. The other key reason is that the price is right!
The stay was great ! The bus stop for the University and Kitchener (bus terminal) was close to the house, so that was perfect for us who did not have a car. The interior of the house was charming and we have been well received by Kate. Finding the house was not a problem with her instructions.
Thank you for this pleasant stay !
It was really a great stay. The house was located net that far from the bus stop and we entered the house without any problems following instructions given by the host. Actually, it was a feeling of a spy story with all of these locks and everything. What amazed us was the interior design of the house. Even with a lot of interesting things and a feeling of history you could feel that you are like at home. Half of the evening I was simply exploring this intriguing house trying to understand what history lies in all of these things, most of which is handmade. We had a nice talk with the host next morning before our leave and got some useful pieces of advice about the Kitchener. It was a great experience, and unforgettable stay. If there would be a possibility to visit Kitchener again, I certainly would not be against visiting this house again. Thanks to Kathryn.
I had a pleasant and comfortable stay. The bedroom, the private bathroom, the living room and the kitchen are beautifully furnished, and the landlady is quite nice. There is a garden on the back with a sun chair and an apple tree with lots of fruits. You can hear crickets sing. At a short walking distance there is a stop of the bus number 8 which left me in front of Wilfried Laurier University, where I went to a conference. If I will go to another conference there in 2015, I would definitely like to return to Kathryn's place.
