The Space

Hi, thanks for checking out our place! We go back and forth between Brooklyn and Santa Fe, New Mexico for work and rent out our Brooklyn apartment while we are away. Please contact me (Marisa) with any questions--I am happy to offer tips, suggestions and ideas to help you enjoy your stay in Brooklyn!

Our 2 bedroom apartment is located on the first floor of a recently renovated, century-old brick townhouse. It has wood floors throughout, exposed brick, original tin ceilings, tub/shower in bathroom, kitchen alcove, living room and two bedrooms (the second bedroom is quite small but can accommodate a pullout sofabed for two people).

In addition, we have a lovely private backyard, and street parking if you are traveling by car.

Located between the neighborhoods of DUMBO and Fort Greene, you are a 10 minute walk from either neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. Across the street is Commodore Barry Park, Brooklyn's first park. It was recently renovated and features an open area with lots of trees and benches directly across from the apartment, sports fields on the far side of the park, and a free public lap pool open all summer long.

The closest subways are a 15 minute walk to either the Q (email hidden), or the F at York--each only 1 stop from Manhattan.

The rate quoted is for 2 guests, each additional guest is $10 per night and there is a cleaning fee of $100.

In addition, a security deposit of $200 is required and will be refunded once the cleaning person inspects the apartment.

  • Our stay at Marisa and Colin's apartment was great. Marisa provided us all the info we needed about the house and the neighborhood when the reservation was completed and answered quickly to all my emails.

The apartment is quite calm and comfortable. Although it was rainy during our trip, the backyard felt really nice and must be truly enjoyable during summertime.

I would definitely recommend this apartment to people who want to enjoy their New York experience while being able to rest in a quiet place at the end of the day.

Thank you Marisa and Colin :)

  • Marisa's place is a quaint and cosy haven in Brooklyn, very conveniently located 15Min walk to F (email hidden) and 20Min from Brooklyn Heights with lovely views of the bridges and Manhattan skyline.
The flat is as described and can be seen in the pictures, very safe with decent amenities like Wifi, towels, utensils. Despite the 2nd bed room being a converted sitting room, my group of 4 ppl fitted snugly in and had a great time. Marisa was very kind and prompt to reply to any questions and made our first time in Brooklyn memorable. Thank you for hosting us!

  • Had an awesome time in Marisa and Colin's place! Nice cozy townhouse in Brooklyn was perfect for us and we really enjoyed the stay. We had 4 folks and I can vouch that the extra bedroom with the pull-out sofa is very comfortable if you use the provided air mattress on top. Convenient access to the city and the rest of Brooklyn if you don't mind walking a little. Marisa was extremely helpful and very responsive to all of our questions. Highly recommended!

  • Marisa's place was perfect. There were 4 of us staying in the house and it was just incredible. Ridiculous location, there is a park right across the road with a swimming pool (that was free) and plenty of shops in walking distance. There was a bus about 2 minutes away and the subway was 15 min walk. Will definitely stay again when we're all back in Brooklyn!!!

  • HI our stand at Marisa apartment was both comfortable and in a good location, we where fortunate to arrive at the beginning of an African arts festival which was happening in the park across from the apartment which was a wonderful experience, the people where so so friendly and welcoming.

The apartment had everything we needed, well equipped kitchen and bathroom, the main bedroom was very comfortable and as we where there during a heat wave the air conditioning in this room was a life saver. The back bedroom had an air fan which was not as effective in the heat, but im sure it would be fine at a cooler time of year. It took around 20 mins to walk to the sub-way, again fine but in the heat it felt like a bit of a track.
But overall a great experience I would recommend Marisa place to friends for a friendly Brooklyn stay
    Many Thanks Jacqueline and family

  • This place is awesome! Perfect for size and close to everything shops, bus, train. It's only a few stops from Manhattan! Definitely recommend staying at this Brooklyn apartment. Marisa was awesome! Always in contact with us to make sure everything was going accordingly to plan! And easy to contact by phone or txt msg if we needed anything! If I ever go back to NYC I would definitely stay here again!

  • This place was exactly what we needed. A family with two teenagers visiting the city. It's walking distance (15 min) from Brooklyn bridge, in a nice neighbourhood.
We rented bikes overnight and put them in front of the house where there is plenty of room. The garden at the back was very nice to enjoy breakfast. But more important was the support of Marisa who promptly provided assistance when needed.

  • This apartment was clean and comfortable. Marisa was a pleasure to deal with. She communicated very clearly and was just a text message away whenever I had a question about the area or needed advice. I would highly recommend that you stay in her apartment if you're planning a trip to New York.

  • Nice place, as per photos. Marisa also very helpful when I had questions and would answer within the hour. Only negative was walking distance to the subway, but we would only do this walk once a day and catch a cab from the subway station at night, so really wasn't too much of a problem. A great place to come back to after a busy day!
