VERY nice place, very clean, very friendly hosts (and guests as well); spacious rooms with quite comfortable beds, each room had a large bed and a day bed that opened up into a bed for two extra people. we all enjoyed the breakfast included with the room: toast, croissants, cheese, yogurt, cereal, chocolate milk, coffee.
The rooms don't come with AC nor fans so at night it was a bit uncomfortable to sleep.
Great location to the castle, just a 5-10min walk!
Overall, high recommendation!
Carcassonne is incredible. We loved every minute we were there.
Brigitte is warm, friendly and welcoming. She provided us with lots of helpful advice and local knowledge.
Brigitte's breakfasts were a lovely way to start each morning.
Our room was great and the view was absolutely amazing.
The house is in a great location and just a five minute walk up the hill to the castle. There are restaurants close to the house. Overall, a lovely experience and we wished we could have stayed longer.
We met one of Bridgitte's family members at check-in as Bridgitte was visiting another dear member of her family after his major surgery. She was very thorough in showing us where extra blankets were, what time breakfast would be available, etc. The beds were comfortable and the shower good. Breakfast was croissants/bread/jelly/little boxes of cereal/milk/juice/yogurt. We met Bridgitte at breakfast and she was very friendly as well. There was some parking on the street in front of the b&b and a parking lot a couple hundred of yards up the road - check with Bridgitte if there is another option for parking as these will probably be crowded during heavy tourist seasons. The beds were comfortable. The shower was hot with good water pressure. The kids thought the colored light that changed as the water temp changed was cool. The welcome book in the room was helpful. This is a truly professional B&B place to stay.
Things to note:
-The pictures in the listing are of multiple rooms/views from multiple places and I don't think all the rooms have views of the fortress/castle walls. The views of all the lower rooms are partially obstructed by the buildings you see in the bottom of the main picture. The picture you see that has the bridge in it is taken from a spot that is a 5 minute walk away. Carsasonne is really cool and worth the visit.
-You can occasionally hear louder guests through the walls.
-The staircase up to Mandarin room is a fairly narrow, spiral staircase - may want to discuss with Bridgitte if you have limited mobility.
We spent a lovely night in Carcassonne in Les Florentines. Brigitte is the best host and her breakfast was delicious. Location is perfect and the rooms are perfect. I totally recommend staying here when you visit the city.
