Brigitte was a fantastic hostess. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed her hospitality, which was exceptional. Our time in Carcassonne was amazing and that is due, in large part, to Brigitte's obvious warmth, personal investment in our experience there and attention to detail. Additionally, the room was VERY nice and situated in a perfect part of town to visit la cite as well as explore town. I HIGHLY recommend Brigitte.
Before making the reservation, make sure you're doing the reservation for the right number of people. We were four people (two couples), so we simply selected 4 here on AirBNB and ended up all in one room for four people. Unfortunately, there were no free double rooms when we arrived, so we couldn't change.
Except for that, the rooms are in a great location, very close to the castle and the historical center and with parking in private. The place is perfectly clean and nicely decorated and Brigitte and her husband were very helpful hosts. Overall, I would recommend staying at Les Florentines, but you should make sure that you're making a reservation for the room you want.
We arrived in Carcassone a bit early so had to wander around town for an hour before checking in. But Carcassone is a lovely place to wander! Henri Jean has very little English, but his infectious laugh at our attempts at French made us fast friends. The B&B is sweet, but HOT! No fans or air of any kind, but that is typical of most European places. We quickly remedied that by a trip to the Brico Depot. Breakfast was simple but lovely, and the room was comfortable. I was a bit surprised, however, that we were not in the room as shown in the pictures. It is not clear that there is only one room that has the mentioned terrace with the view of La Cite. I feel that the price that we paid for the room that we actually were placed in, was a bit high for the quality. We did have a lovely stay, nevertheless.
Brigitte and her husband were very kind hosts. Brigitte served us a delicious breakfast with a nice variety of foods, and the location of the rooms near the walled city of Carcassonne was extremely convenient. The rooms were large with great views of Carcassonne, very nicely decorated, and the internet worked well. We found free street parking right away in the evening.
Brigitte was a lovely host. The room was clean, spacious and airy. Breakfast was delicious and Brigitte's recommendations for restaurants in the old city were perfect. Fantastic location and a lovely view of the old walled city.
I'd recommend this place to others.
