Family
Welcome to Our Home! I am JD Rathore, owner of Ikaki Niwas. My family and I look after this home and the guests who come to stay with us. My father, Dr. Thakur G S Rathore, constructed this house about 40 years ago and recently it was refurbished and renovated with comfortable beds, new LCD televisions, and modern baths. Our family belongs to the royal Rajpoot community, and prior to India’s independence, our great grandfather was chieftain in the Bikaner state of Rajasthan. We are well-educated and we’ll be happy to share and discuss what we know about India over a cup of coffee or at the dinner table.

  • My mother and I would highly recommend Ikaki Niwas in Jaipur. Dhivika, JD's wife, and Jony, the house manager, and their staff were excellent hosts.

Ikaki Niwas offer charming, spacious and clean accommodation with delicious breakfast to your liking (Indian or continental). The house is situated next to a quaint garden and within walking distance from the beautiful Birla temple, and a short distance from the city centre.

We look forward to return to Jaipur !

  • Works extremely well as a base for seeing Jaipur. Owners charming. Other guests, who one meets at breakfast, all interesting and fun. Cab rank 100 yards. Staff extremely likeable and helpful. Supper, if required is good, mainly routine Indian/omelettes etc. Best is to eat in if tired, or nip off to larger restaurants 10 mins away if energised.

  • My friends and I had wonderful stay in Jaipur at Devika and JD's lovely and comfortable guest house. Will definitely return.

  • Our stay at Jaideos home was defintely a highlight of our trip through Radjasthan. Thank you very much for the warm welcome and helping us that much finding restaurants and especially organzing drivers for Jaipur and Agra.

I will never come anywhere else, in case I come back to Jaipur.

    Thank you!

  • This elegant home gains my highest recommendation for boutique accommodation in Jaipur. This beautiful home is located in a quiet exclusive Jaipur suburb overlooking a large park and from the moment the large gates opened and I met the young professional hosts (JD and Devi) and their extended family and staff in this sophisticated and elegantly decorated home, I knew I had chosen well. Devi showed me to my large airy room which had AC, a large modern bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, writing desk and crisp white sheets. My windows overlooked the park but I had chai on the rooftop terrace with day lounges overlooking the decadent pool with hand pained murals and tinkling wind chimes. What a magnificent place to relax away from the city chaos. The host family also own an organic farm and all meals consist of this home grown produce. This is unique and very rare. Water at the home is also filtered and so all kitchen preparation uses this water. Perfect for travellers who need to drink filtered or bottled water. That night JD asked if I would like to join a group of 22 Canadian women who had arrived for cooking lessons and this was fantastic. We then had a wonderful buffet dinner on the terrace and I met some lovely women. A great night. This gorgeous haven is only 3kms from the centre of Jaipur and JD, Devi or a wonderful staff member can arrange for a reliable taxi or tuk-tuk to drive you there in no time. Being at this location is actually quicker to get to the city as it is located in a quiet area away from the roads where traffic is slow and congested. I LOVED this very special accommodation, food and people and will stay here again and again when I return. It is impossible for hotels to compete with the personal, unique, quiet and homey atmosphere of a place like this. JD and Devi gave me tips and help with questions I had and I felt they had time and patience to spend time with me. Breakfast was huge and a very comprehensive menu and full time kitchen staff meant I could also order lunch and dinner. The home is also very secure with a full time guard. Who could ask for anything more! Thank you for all my great memories, my restful sleep and luxurious hot shower. I will be back.

  • This was definitely one of my favorite accommodations during our trip to India. It was a good combination of the family environment of a homestay and the decoration and style of a boutique hotel.
As soon as we arrived we knew it was going to be great. We left our bags in the room and went straight to the amazing rooftop where Jaideo’s wife was doing a cooking demonstration for the other guests. That night we had a home-cooked dinner and met other visitors from Belgium, Iceland and Australia.
I would like to highlight as well the work of their staff, everyone is very friendly!
Jaideo was a great host, helped us plan our stay in Jaipur and was always ready to help us every time we needed something.
Definitely I'll recommend this place to my friends and hopefully we'll be back someday.

  • This is a great place for travelers that do not just want to stay at an anonymous hotel. Jaideo and his wife Debi are great hosts, that interact with all their guests and share many tips and backgrounds about Jaipur as well as India. One highlight was an Indian buffet on the rooftop terrace, which allowed also to interact with other guests. Jaideo can organize a driver and tour guide.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food was at high quality, tasteful, plenty and reasonably priced.

  • This was a fantastic experience and we really enjoyed staying with JD and his wide Devika. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and were extremely helpful and honest in planning our trip in Jaipur. The room was very comfortable and it is a lovely property. The food was also delicious, and there was so much of it! Such a lovely couple and it was such a pleasure for us to meet them. Thankyou so much.
