Trastevere the dense area across the river, is considered by many to be Rome's most authentic neighborhood, teeming with street life and overflowing with local color. At night, both natives and tourists alike flock to its many pubs and restaurants. The unique character of this neighborhood has attracted artists, foreign expats, and many famous people.
Step outside your door and find Baroque fountains, medieval churches, Imperial Roman temples and the shops, restaurants and people which lead people to call Rome a big "village". Trastevere maintains its character thanks to its narrow cobbled streets lined by medieval houses.
From the apartment you can reach within walking distance the following sites:
CAMPO DE' FIORI
SANTA MARIA IN TRASTEVERE
ACCADEMIA NAZIONALE DEI LINCEI
MUSEO D'ARTE ANTICA GALLERIA CORSINI
OSPEDALE SANTO SPIRITO
OSPEDALE BAMBIN GESU'
OSPEDALE FATE BENE FRATELLI

Charmant et sympathique appartement très bien situé en plein coeur de Trastevere. Vue sur les jardins de la villa Farnesina. Hôte très prévenant. Accueil très agréable.
we came back to Elisabetta after two years.the place remained a jewl of Trastevere as before.I even brought my kids and parents and we stayed in both rooms. The house keeper was helpfull and nice. taxi to airport arranged by him was great and cheap. We definitely will come the third time.
Well, to be honest, the location of apartment was near a road, so it's not so quiet at night . If you wanna go to train station or any landmark, you have to cross the bridge and go a little long distance to catch buses. The facilities in the apartment was very old, especially the bath room, the roof was too low, which makes the space of bathroom very narrow. But, host supplied for us some snacks as breakfast ,very lovely .
This is a beautiful apartment. The building is gorgeous, and the apartment itself is well decorated. There is a small fridge, a toaster, and a few cups to have a very simple breakfast. The location of this apartment is great. The proximity to the Trastevere area is a huge asset: lots of restaurants to eat at, two or three different small markets, cash machine, artisans selling their goods, etc. The walk from the apartment to other major attractions in Rome is very doable and pleasant. The only area of concern is for people with mobility/access issues, as the stairs going to the main bedroom would be difficult for someone old or with stability issues. Overall, we loved it.
A room with a view in a 18th century palazzo with character!
This was our first experience with Airbnb and we could not have asked for a better host as Elisabetta. She answered all our questions prior to our trip. A few days before we arrived in Rome she sent us clear and precise indications on how to get at 'The Suite', where she welcomed us. She provided us a map of the neighbourhood and a list of nearby shops and restaurants, which was very useful. Elisabetta arranged private transfers to and from the airport which was quick, easy and comfortable! Elisabetta was a great host, communicating with her was easy and she responded really quickly. All the arrangements were flexible.
Elisabetta's 'Suite' is precisely as lovely as it looks on the photo's. The Suite is ideal for a couple, the room was clean and the bed very comfortable; the only room that is a little lacking is the bathroom. The ancient wooden ceiling is quite low in the bathroom and you barely can stand in the tub to take a shower. But it was fine for us!
The neighbourhood is nice and friendly, with good connections, lots of restaurants and lively atmosphere (but not so quiet at night) and is within easy reach of the major sites (15/30 minutes easy walk and with some research on bus routes, even quicker, though we definitely prefer walking/wandering).
"Ancient Trastevere" is an excellent and great place to stay in Rome - highly recommended! We were also very satified with our first experience with airbnb.

Rome is a wonderful place to visit and this apartment is in a brilliant location. It's walking distance to all the main sites and nestled in a bustling area with lovely restaurants and bars. The apartment is quirky. Elisabetta made every effort to make our journey from the airport as easy as possible, which was very much appreciated!
Highly recommend to stay in this amazing apartment, which is in central Rome, we haven't even used any public transport or taxis while staying there, walking distance to the main sights. The ancient feel of the apartment and neighborhood makes your experiences much more vivid and exciting. Elisabetta was a great host, she even organised transfer cars from and to the airport, and was more than happy to guide and help us.
