Private bedroom with queen memory foam bed in very clean, minimalist modern home on quiet, bike route. One block away from MAX line leading into downtown Portland. Just minutes away from Overlook park, N. Mississippi st., Williams st., Alberta arts.
Beautiful, very clean and organized home that sits above street level, with a relaxing, enjoyable summer garden and grill to cook out. This a two person accommodation room with a shared house.
You will have your own private master bedroom and would be sharing bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen with myself and Lloyd (my cat) as well as access to kitchen supplies, back yard, front porch. Flatscreen TV available with Netflix, Hulu Plus and DVD player.
Also if you have recreational equipment, I have a basement available to store items such as skies, camping gear, rafts etc. just give me a heads up about it.
Interaction with Guests
I will be around most of the time, probably cleaning or gardening, to answer any questions and give any suggestions of fun places to checkout.
Located in a quiet N. Portland Overlook neighborhood on a bike route. My favorite ride is along Willamette Blvd heading north towards The University of Portland along the overlook. With plenty of local restaurants, food cart lots and parks within walking distance. Close to Moda Center, Rose Quarter for music events and Trailblazer games. Plenty of street side parking available.
The MAX line is one block away on Interstate Ave., with the Prescott stop being just a few blocks to catch the a ride and to get to/from the airport. There is plenty of street side parking available.
Biking is great here, located on a major bike route that connects to most other routes in the city.
Other Things to Note
French press coffee (the best coffee) old school espresso or stash tea is available.
Also, help yourself to any food, although I am vegan and mostly only have veggies, I am not offended by anyone who wants to cook meat products. No cooking of fish or seafood in my house.
No smoking in the house. Since I have a cat, I cannot accommodate any pets, sorry. No cooking of fish or any other seafoodish things, that stinks up the house and is hard to get out.
We never saw Shane but he was great in accommodating us as we were arriving pretty late. We did talk to his roommate a couple of times who was very nice and helpful. The walk to the MAX is only five or so minutes and there was a good restaurant only about a block away. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable!
This was the second time we have been lucky enough to stay in Shane's beautiful home. Just a mere walking distance from the spectacular restaurants, shops and entertainment venues on Mississippi Avenue, the location is excellent! The neighborhood is quiet as well as relaxing and, if you want to hop on the train to check out another part of town, a MAX station is just a few blocks away. Shane's entire home is immaculately clean, well organized and styled with a beautiful collection of mid-century works! As a host, Shane is extremely helpful and is always accessible whether it be for tips and suggestions about things to do in and around the city or for just a good conversation. Both of our visits have been excellent thanks in large part to Shane and his hospitality! He is by far, the most accommodating host we have had through Airbnb and we would recommend his home to any traveler thinking of visiting the Portland area! Also, his cat is pretty cool too!
Shane's place is great. His home is in a quiet neighborhood that's only a few minutes walk from a MAX station. The room was very clean, and the bed was firm and comfortable.
Home is super clean and tidy and very pleasant to hang out in. Shane was great as a host. We didn't see much of one another and mostly communicated by text and email. It is a great part of town to stay in.
My friend and I just spent a couple of nights at Shane's. His place is just as pictured , though I think the bedroom is actually nicer than what the photo shows. Shane is very nice and puts you at ease. He's quick to respond to any messages and provides amenities such as body lotion or even a toothbrush if you've forgotten one.
His house is a short walk from the tram line, and very close to the Alberta Street district if you've got a car. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Shane's again!
The room was exactly as pictured. The room and the entire house are emaculate. Shane greeted me upon arrival, introduced me to his girlfriend, and then showed me around the house and we he had a brief chat about life experiences before I turned in. I was out before the sun came up but certainly would stay again the next time I'm in Portland thanks to Shane's easy going nature, clean style, and the proximity to downtown.

From the mid-west originally, I have lived in many cities and use to visit Portland in the 90s, every time I said this is where I'm going to live when I'm ready to settle down. I have lived here since 2004 when I was presented a job opportunity. I have been in the coffee industry for almost 15 years. Love mid-century furniture and architecture style. Paul McCobb and Frank Lloyd Wright are amazing. I also have an instrumental studio music project on the side creating background music for film projects. Snowboarding in the winter, garden, rafting and biking in the summer with all the diversity that Portland has to offer.
