Interaction with Guests
I will be around most of the time, probably cleaning or gardening, to answer any questions and give any suggestions of fun places to checkout.
Update: I had a good friend of mine temporarily staying with me for a couple months Febuary-April until she found a place, she has since found a place as of April 11th.
Located in a quiet N. Portland Overlook neighborhood on a bike route. My favorite ride is along Willamette Blvd heading north towards The University of Portland along the overlook. With plenty of local restaurants, food cart lots and parks within walking distance. Close to Moda Center, Rose Quarter for music events and Trailblazer games. Plenty of street side parking available.
The MAX line is one block away on Interstate Ave., with the Prescott stop being just a few blocks to catch the a ride and to get to/from the airport. PDX BUS is a good app for departing and arrival times as well as (website hidden) maps. There is plenty of street side parking available.
Biking is great here, my home is located on a major bike route that connects to most other routes in the city.
Other Things to Note
French press coffee (the best coffee) old school espresso or stash tea is available.
Also, help yourself to any food, although I am vegan and mostly only have veggies, I am not offended by anyone who wants to cook meat products. No cooking of fish or seafood in my house.
No smoking in the house. Since I have a cat, I cannot accommodate any pets, sorry. No cooking of fish or any other seafoodish things, that stinks up the house and is hard to get out.
Shane's a great host, and Lloyd is a great cat. The house is perfectly clean, comfortable, quiet, well-appointed - everything you could want in an Airbnb. We were only staying a night, but highly recommend the place for longer stays.
Shane 's home is located is a very cosy area, near the max station and near of Mississipi and Alberta animated Street. Shane is very friendly and has a lot of tips about portland (places to eat veggie..) His place is well decorated and very clean. All was as described, thanks a lot Shane!
Shane was extremely welcoming and gave great recommendations of places in the area to check out. The neighborhood was charming, the house was super clean and the garden was beautiful. Lloyd was adorable and some how Shane keeps the house cat hair free. Shane even had coffee made for us in the fridge when we arrived. A pleasant surprise!
Shane made our stay incredibly comfortable. The place was super tidy with ample closet and dresser space for clothes, and cupboard and fridge space for some food. Shane and his friendly cat Lloyd made the stay like visiting an old friend. He was attentive if we needed anything and is great to chat with.
If I find myself in the city again, I will definitely be staying here.
+ The apartment is very close to a major transit line which made it easy to get around the city and hit all the spots on our trip.
Shane was an awesome host and his place is great. He was great at communicating and his place is great. Great neighborhood close to everything going on in North Portland. Room and home were beautiful and clean and he was really helpful. Could not recommend Shane and his place more, thanks Shane!
The place was great and the location was convenient! Shane was great too, made us feel very welcomed!
This is a great spot close enough to town but far enough for quietness. Shane is a great host, we were only there for a short time, but it is VERY clean and everything is as described. Thank you Shane

About the Host, Shane
From the mid-west originally, I have lived in many cities and use to visit Portland in the 90s, every time I said this is where I'm going to live when I'm ready to settle down. I have lived here since 2004 when I was presented a job opportunity. I have been in the coffee industry for almost 15 years. Love mid-century furniture and architecture style. Paul McCobb and Frank Lloyd Wright are amazing. I also have an instrumental studio music project on the side creating background music for film projects. Snowboarding in the winter, garden, rafting and biking in the summer with all the diversity that Portland has to offer.
