Interaction with Guests
Homeowners are available via email to answer questions and help with your holiday planning but are located in USA. You will check in, at Longtail Beach Resort reception and staff are available to help with house and service questions. Observe USA-West Coast time May thu December and Thailand time January thru April.
THE BEACH/ACTIVITIES: Thongnaipan (TNP) Beach is a short minute stroll down the paved driveway leading you to an idyllic white sand beach perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, floating, beach combing, jogging or sun tanning. A variety of other activities are offered including trekking, island tours, and boat, diving & fishing trips as well as day trips to Angthong National Marine Park.
THE VILLAGE: The local village is a tiny tourist town with amenities including ATM’s, 711, resorts, shops, kiosks, nursing clinics, travel agents, motorbike rental, elementary school, temple, restaurants, nightlife and guests from all over the world.
THE ISLAND: The Island is covered in tropical jungle with small roads to navigate across. Island tours include elephant trekking, temple viewing, beach exploring/snorekeling, snake shows, 'wipe out' water course, zip-line canopy adventures, Thai boxing and more. Ko PhaNgan is famed for its “Full Moon & Half Moon” parties which are hosted on the other side of the island.
You can walk everywhere in the village/bay or rent motorbikes to get around faster. (We do not recommend motorbike travel over the mountain unless you are very experianced rider.) Thongnaipan-yai beach has taxi services to/from the pier at 2 scheduled times a day (10AM, 3PM) or private taxis at your request. To visit other beaches around the island, day-trips can be arranged at the adjoining Longtail Beach Resort.
LOCATION: Ko PhaNgan is one of three tropical islands located in the gulf of Thailand. It is assessable by boats that leave Ko Samui Island several times a day or from the mainland embarking from Suratthani city and DonSak pier. Both Ko Samui and Suratthani have airports and connecting flights to/from Bangkok city. Ko Phangan does not have an airport. Thong Nai Pan Beaches have two crescent bays lined with beach bungalows and 5 Star resorts. The bigger of the two bays is called Thong Nai Pan-Yai (TNP). “Yai” means big, and the house is tucked in the hill at the end of TNP, Yai (big) beach and the end of TNP main road. This area is considered a remote part of the island, requiring 30-40 minute truck transport over narrow, dirt roads through the jungle. *The road has been under construction the last few years and is mostly concrete but expect road construction delays on the way to the bay.
Other Things to Note
This is a "Holiday House Rental", NOT a "Bed & Breakfast." Guests must provide their own meals or eat at nearby restaurants. Longtail Beach Resort will deliver their full menu to the house.
Also remember this is a "House" not a "Hotel" and does not have the same services as a full service hotel.
The road to TNP is improving. With the improved road, comes more travelers exploring. Longtail Beach House is located at the entrance to a small bungalow resort. Expect some motorbike traffic to pass by. The house is cozy and nestled at the end of the road with the jungle behind and has a few friendly staff neighbors to smile, sing and help service your needs. If you are looking for a "Remote Sanctuary" with silent solitude, this is not a good fit.
Please think first, if this is your style of accommodation before booking.
-No Pets Please.
-No Smoking in the two bedrooms and no fireworks. Take extreme caution with candles and incense as it's a wooden bungalow with thatch roof.
-20% Extra during Holiday Season (Dec 15- Jan 15) with 5 night minimum stay during Holiday Season
-Staff will service the house every 3 days and provide clean linens. Please do your own dishes.
-Air condition availble in 2 bedrooms at additional 250 baht charge. Notify staff to pay for and turn on air-conditioning.
-Children are welcome. Balconies are enclosed but the stairs do not have baby gates. Please watch your children at all times to keep them safe.
We loved our 4 day stay at Sea View House! We are a couple in our late 20's and found it to be the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. The house is located on a small "resort" of about 20 bungalows, but still manages to be completely private. The beach here is lovely (truly only a one minute walk) and the house is a ten minute walk into town. The kitchen is well-equipped, but we enjoyed the food so much at the restaurant that we ate most meals there.
The staff at Long Tail Resort arranged a taxi from the ferry terminal (even though the ferry was over an hour late!). The staff were on hand to welcome us and get us oriented to the house and property.
I honestly cannot say enough positive things about this place! After staying in hotels for 2 weeks, we felt at home here. We loved it so much, we extended our stay by 3 nights and stayed in one of the bungalows. I would highly recommend you stay here!
Thanks Meaghan for sharing and of course it pleases us that you loved staying at the house. The staff at Longtail are really helpful and make it easy for our guests and we are glad that you appreciated them as much as we do. So happy that you had a rejuvenating holiday. We welcome you again. Cheers!
This is a beautiful house tucked away in the gem of Koh Phangan. The beach (only a minute or less down the hill) is quiet and the water is clean...a real way to get away and tune out a bit. Brenda was also extremely helpful with her directions and communication. Not to mention, the restaurant down the hill (at Long Tail Beach Bungalows) has the best Thai food I've eaten.
Thanks Nick for your review. It pleases us that you liked the house and enjoyed the benefits of being away from it all, while still having services close by. I'll pass on the compliment to the staff at Longtail Restaurant, it's our favorite beachfront restaurant to eat at. Please come again; I'm happy to assist with your travel needs.
We had a lovely stay in Koh Phangan at Brian and Brenda's house. The house is nicely located at the far end of the Thong Nai Pan Yai beach (north east of the island), near the Longtail Beach resort. We loved the view from the terrace and the feeling of being in the rainforest, yet by the beach! The house has everything one needs to cook meals, but we took all ours at the Longtail beach resort, 1 minute away. Their food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The village has a few shops, and a very nice massage parlour called "The Village", where we went a couple of times. We had a very relaxing and peaceful vacation.
Glad to hear that the house was a good fit for you. We too enjoy the rainforest and sounds of wildlife as much as we enjoy the sea view and beach relaxing. I'll put "The Village Spa" on our list of recommendations for massage. Thank you for your review and we hope to have you again.
Very nice house in super surrounding. Quite and cosy. Living in the jungle can be great in a house like that. It was like a home for us during traveling. Laying in a hammock looking over the beach. Amazing, relaxing.
A very nice place to stay if you like very simple life in a part of "jungle".....fantastic view, fantastic people at Longtail Beach resort just down the hill , we very appreciate the Villa but the comfort is a little too "rustic" for us.
Impossible to stay outside because of mosquitos, A/C as an extra charge?! small bedrooms with small beds, nightlife of dogs, gecko and frogs very noisy, so difficult to sleep peacefully in this place, but thank you Brenda and Brian to let us know this wonderful Longtail Beach Resort in this TNP Bay , cause we finished our stay in a bungalow there and very enjoy it for a very cheap price.
Anyway we spent a lovely time in Ko Phangan.
We really had a wonderful stay. You are at the end of the beach, a short walk up the hill from the water. The house is a part of a small resort with other cabins and a restaurant at the beach. The food at the restaurant was really good and when we were there it was the most popular spot on the beach. We really like the massaman curry, and noname appetizers. The staff is very attentive and helpful although you want to be patient to make sure you understand each other when speaking English. Overall, and amazing place to stay if you find yourself in this little piece of paradise.
Brian and Brenda enjoy a life well lived, shared with family and friends. A perfect day involves a cup of coffee in the sun, doing something sporty outdoors, healthy local foods and then sharing a beer with friends and family on the beach, sitting by the fire or in relaxing a hammock.
Brian and Brenda are very active and enjoy having busy building and design projects. B&B have travelled and lived in various places overseas while doing independent volunteer projects in India, Africa, Vietnam and Thailand. They believe in giving back to society and building relationships through shared experiences.
