The house was just as described, peaceful, cosy and well equipped with all one needed. Elizabeth provided very comprehensive details regarding the location, the usage of appliances etc., and suggestions for places to visit in the county. We were met by a very helpful and friendly caretaker who ensured that we had all we needed.
Elizabeth provides a very well stocked library of books and DVDs. The bedrooms are comfortable and living areas are large and well furnished. It is obvious that this is a well loved home and one senses the generosity of the owners in all aspects of the house.
Very comfortable house with a well equipped kitchen. This was important to me as I prefer to cook my own food rather than eat out. It's in a stunning area with a beautiful coastline and islands to visit. It really doesn't matter if it rains, the mist shrouded mountains are so atmospheric! Everything went very smoothly. Elizabeth provided detailed instructions and we were met by Jeanne who was kind and helpful.
Cant recommend this house highly enough for a complete get-away from-it-all and recharge-your-batteries experience. The house was actually better than expected and is obviously a well-loved owner-used holiday home with tasteful understated furnishings, well-equipped kitchen and a personal interesting range of books, dvds and artwork..
If you do manage to leave the house the surrounding area is wonderful for walks, cycling, surfing, spectacular drives with ocean and mountain scenery. The small local village of Louisburgh has a few excellent pubs some with traditional music and the Derrylahan has really good pub food.
We spent our family Christmas there and it worked out so well we even managed to get our teenage sons out for a hill-walk on Christmas day! - we had decided against other houses as they had no wifi, a deal-breaker for the boys but even they were happy with the wifi service and range of movies so happy days. (smiley face).
Elizabeth has a beautiful house that me and my family felt very lucky to call home for a few days. The house is bright, cosy and has lots of character...from the beautiful rugs, comfy couches and nice art work on the walls! Also a great selection of CDs and DVDs to unwind too after a hard day exploring the surrounding beaches and mountains. Also Cathy the caretaker was very helpful and nice to my family.
the house was exactly as showed in photos & description : convenient, very clean, very peaceful and lightful (the sunroom was great with its 4 windows in the roof). We spent a wonderful time there and had a good contact with Elizabeth and Kathy, who welcomed us when we arrived. The information given was complete and very useful.
We had a lovely stay, the house is perfect - very peaceful and has everything that you need. Lots to see and do nearby - in particular, some amazing beaches. Elizabeth was really helpful throughout. Would love to come back again in the future.
