Historical nostalgic restored house. Clean, tidy and organized place. Lovely experience. Engin and Nevin warm and informed ones. You must stay/live in this house for some days ! ️
Engin was an amazing host! A friend and I stayed at his place for 3 nights. The first night he showed us around and took us to a place with a great view of the water and city. He also gave us a very handy map of the town and advised us on the best things to see in the area! He also gave us tips on restaurants. He was extremely helpful during our stay and very hospitable. He cooked dinner for us the first night we got in and always welcomed us to chat and have tea.
The room we stayed in was a double beds. The house is a very cute Victorian style. It was always clean and had plenty of towels and all the necessary kitchen amenities. The washer is great bonus as well. The location is prime! It is extremely close to the water and very safe neighborhood that is walking distance to the bus stop, shops, and strips of restaurants.
On the last day we had a late check out and he offered to let us stay without hesitation. The wifi worked perfectly. I would definitely stay here again! It was a great stay for my friend and I!
FYI-- I recommend getting a rent a car from the airport. The rent a cars in the area will try to rip you off!
We were warmly welcomed by the landlord (Nevin), her mother and sister. The house is built in Ottoman style with thick walls and therefore pleasantly cool even when it's very hot outside. It's a 30 minute walk to the city center (Konak), along the seaside boulevard. There are a couple of small restaurants and shops around the corner and public transport (bus) is also less than 5 minutes away. Engin was very helpful and super responsive whenever we had questions or asked for suggestions.
Our stay at Nevin's place was great! Engin and Nevin are very hospitable. The house is nearby the boulevard and there is great transportation to the city center (Konak and Alsancak), it's only a couple minutes with the bus or metro. We really liked the decoration and furniture of the house. We recommend this place to others and hopefully we will come back one day.
The bedroom is small but comfortable, and the house is quite big with warm decoration. The big kitchen and bathroom are in the basement.
Engin is a quite responsible agent, he provides very detailed information and is willing to translate for us or help us even at late night.
Nevin is the host, her English speaking is not that well but she is quite nice，enthusiastic and humorous. She prepared the breakfast for us as she worried that we couldn't buy the food outside in the early morning. Then took us to the airport bus station and used her transport card to pay the tickets for us.
It is a very short stay in Izmir, but it is impressive！I would strongly recommend this place ：）
Engin and Nevin are nice and responsive. The house manual is clear and details, and the room is clean and comfortable, we have a good sleep in the room. They borrow us a Izmir transportation card that helped a lot during our tour in the city. It is a very special and traditional house during our trip in turkey.
Engin and Nevin was very helpful. Room was clean and quiet. We also loved authentic (ottoman style) house. Highly recommended.

About the Host, Engin
I think life is about what you experienced. It shapes you and your vision.
I like to experience, create and draw. Things that I can't live without are my espresso early in mornings, pencil, moleskin (piece of paper or napkin), rhythm.
My favorite travel destination is Lycian way, which is a walking route nearly 509 km with amazing natural beauties located in south of Turkey. The fountainhead from Ayn Rand is my favorite book.
As a traveler I like to experience the local taste and traditions of the culture. That's why I do not care about the luxury in hotels. For me understanding culture or the way of living is crucial.
My life motto is "the more you see, the more you create"
