I'm located in the Historic Old Northeast area of St. Petersburg. Many streets are cobblestone brick with live oaks providing beauty and shade, pedestrian and bike friendly and a couple of miles of waterfront parks.
I'm about three quarters of a mile from downtown, so its definitely walk-able to lots of great museums/shopping/restaurants/nightlife/parks. It's about a 20 minute drive to all the beautiful Gulf beaches.
Other Things to Note
i dont have wifi or tv.
NO SMOKING OR CHEWING TOBACCO!
We really enjoy our stay in Martha's appartement (2 adults and two children). It is very charming, clean and quiet. The bikes were a great way to discover this nice neighborood. Martha and her two daughters where very friendly and made us feel welcomed.
The pool and the garden (with bamboos) are amazing.
This is a great place to relax!
Martha was responsive and available before and during our stay. The apartment was nice, cozy, clean and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. The swimming pool, kayak/canoe were wonderful too.
Martha's guest house was very comfortable. The pool is AMAZING and the neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. The fact that we didn't have a car was a bit of a hassle for us so the bikes were really helpful. Huge bonus that the bikes were in such great condition, too! (We also became huge fans of Uber!)
If you plan to eat all of your meals in like us, know that there is no formal seating inside. There was a table and chairs on the outside patio and inside we sat on the floor on cushions around a coffee table. It worked out just fine for us...it lent to the casual atmosphere very nicely! Just thought it should be pointed out. Along those same lines, the kitchen is quite small but even we got by just fine with 1-2 people cooking for all 4 of us (2 kids and 2 adults).
We loved the Cozy, Crazy, Conch Apartment. It was in a quiet location and the apartment was beautiful. Lots of funky and interesting decor. Tons of natural light. We were able to cook some meals in the small kitchen, but also loved using the bikes to get to downtown St. Petersburg on a very safe path for bikers and pedestrians right along the water. We also loved the beautiful pool right next to the apartment. It was a perfect beach getaway for me and my sister!
The host canceled this reservation 53 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We didn't meet Martha but she was responsive by email before our trip and sent a welcome email on the morning of our arrival. The cottage is very nice and well-located. The only drawback was that the double bed in the second bedroom is an aerobed/air mattress on a frame. We didn't learn this until after booking or we might have reconsidered. Otherwise, we had a nice stay.
We, 3 adults, had a great stay at the Cozy, Crazy, Conch Apartment. The location was beautiful and quiet, near the water with nice walking/bicycle paths and it was a 5 min bike ride or 25 min walk (via the beautiful walking paths) to Downtown area. We never met our host during our short stay, but the logistics were very clear and flexible which made it a breeze to check-in, check-out, etc. Martha left bikes in the garage for us to ride, there were also helmets and safety lights for riding at night. I initially was worried that "cozy" meant it was going to be too small for 3 adults, but it was a very roomy apartment and worked out great. And the decor was awesome! I want Martha to decorate my apartment. Really fun place to stay we only wish we could have stayed longer.
About the Host, Martha
I grew up on Sugarloaf Key (Florida Keys), 90 miles from Cuba. The property is now a state park named after my family-Sammy Creek Landing. My back, and side yard was (and still is) a mangrove swamp and the front is the Atlantic ocean. My siblings and I plotted hurricanes on a paper chart with longitude and latitude lines and "hid" under a hatch-cover (from a boat) table that my grandfather made. We couldn't wait until we could go outside and discover what the storm brought in! This is who I am today-always on the lookout for flotsam and jettison and low tide!
