--- LOCATION ---
Located just 10 minutes from downtown and Old Montreal, near the Lachine Canal and the popular Atwater Market. You will enjoy easy access with the metro, bus or bike to the famous FESTIVALS and appreciate coming back to a quiet and cosy HOME.
--- THE HOUSE ---
With it's large parking space and it's HUGE backyard surrounded by mature trees, this is a real OASIS so close to all the action Montreal has to offer!
Our home is on the ground floor of a century old triplex built in 1870, tastefully renovated while maintaining its unique character: brick walls, original hardwood floors, etc.
We tried to mix OLD and NEW and we love natural materials (hardwood, brick, slate). Here you will find : a big and modern kitchen, trendy design, high ceilings and plenty of natural light.
HD cable TV, DVD and hi-speed wireless internet are all included.
This house is IDEAL for 4 guests but can accommodate up to 6 guests:
- one spacious closed bedroom with a new KING-size bed and a "walk-in" for clothes storage
- one sofa bed in the living-room for 2 guests
- TWO comfortable Single mattress (to be put on the ground in the living room) for four extra person.
The house is ideal for a family (we lend you toys etc) or for 1 or 2 couples.
--- THE AREA ---
Located in a quiet street in Pointe-St-Charles, a residential neighbourhood bordered by Old Montreal, the Lachine Canal and downtown. Close to all services (supermarket, pharmacy) and a children's playground. It's a very safe, family friendly neighborhood and you will sleep soundly as there is no traffic on the street at night.
--- TRANSPORT ---
METRO: It's a 12 minutes walk to the Charlevoix metro station (green line). From there, on the same metro line, it's only 6 stops to "Place des Arts" station (FESTIVALS) and 7 stops to "St-Laurent" station (nightlife, bars, clubs, restaurants).
BUS: It is very easy to access down-town by bus: our house is one corner away from a bus stop that takes you down-town in only 10 minutes (line 61 on Wellington street)!
BIKE & ROLLERBLADE: enjoy the 10 minute ride on the great bike path along the "canal" that brings you to the old montreal, or the beautifull bike and rollerblade path (over 100km long!) along the St-Laurent river that is just 5 minutes bike away from Pointe-Saint-Charles.

Could not have asked for a better place and host. This was my first trip to Montreal. The location was perfect and the home was very clean. The host was very responsive to emails and questions and provided great information on the city and it's sights. Thanks to the host for a perfect trip
This is a very lovely, charming home about 15 mins drive from downtown Montreal. Communication with the hosts was great, and I was so grateful they were able to fit me in at the last minute. They also sent excellent, comprehensive info about the house (TV, keys, local restaurants, etc) in advance which I really appreciated. As a single woman travelling on my own, I'm not sure the neighbourhood was the best fit for me as I didn't quite feel safe, but I think it would be totally fine for a couple. Thanks again for a great stay, Joanna and Frederique!
Sorry you didnt feel safe. The neighbourhood is full of families with young kids so it is weird to hear. Did something specific happen? We'd love to know so to warn people if necessary. Joanna lived in this apartment until last year with her 2 babies and never had to even lock her door... Regardless, we'll always be happy to have you back.
Awesome place. Tons of room and beautifully designed. My review may be somewhat bias since I love the feel of a loft space and exposed brick walls. The backyard was HUGE -- the only down side for me was that the weather wasn't nice enough most of the time to enjoy it.
My only "issue" was that the area was more of a short ride in a cab to places rather than a short walk. I knew this going in though and I love to walk so it was a non-issue for me -- just thought I would mention it for anyone who is lazy :).
We were traveling into Montreal from the US and contacted Joanna on the day that we needed a reservation. She got back to me right away and was very accommodating on such short notice. The house was very clean and comfortable, and she made sure we had everything that we needed to make ourselves at home. The location is super convenient to downtown but in a quiet residential area. We noticed no street noise from inside and had a great night's sleep. I would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate recommending this rental.
Très jolie maison. Très bien équipée. Super jardin
We totally enjoyed our visit. This was the absolutely best Airbnb we have ever used. The guest book emailed to us prior to our arrival provided detailed information on the accommodations, as well as information on the neighborhood. Communication with Joanna was excellent. We loved the open, spacious, nicely decorated apartment. The apartment had everything anyone could want - excellent Wifi, cable TV, telephone, washer/dryer. Having access to a fully equipped, modern kitchen was wonderful. The house was spotlessly clean. The off-street parking spot worked well. When we used the Metro, given the bitterly cold winter weather, we chose to drive to the Charlevoix Metro station where we were able to easily find street parking. While we love the wonderful winding wrought iron stairways in this area, as an older couple it was nice to have no stairs to climb. The neighborhood was one of those special Montreal enclaves which has character and is near to old Montreal and downtown - a perfect location. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to return the next time we come to Montreal.
WOW Penny, you are making my day :O)
I know you have used airbnb a lot and reading "This was the absolutely best Airbnb we have ever used" is realy very touching!
thank you so much !
I am very much looking forward to welcome you back at your next visit
The home was lovely and spacious. LOVED the big tub and cozy atmosphere. We were glad to have the pack and play made available to us for our infant son and the king size bed was great for us! We went to the Atwater Market daily and we enjoyed the Montreal en Lumiere festivities in the evening while we were there. Since we have a baby (and it was wintertime) we drove our car to the closest metro and parked outside the station with no problems. Merci Beaucoup!
If you are a lover of good design and charm, you will enjoy spending time here. The row house is close to everything, but set apart enough to be quiet. The yard makes it a perfect place for children to play and the house is equipped with a portable crib and three extra mattresses, providing plenty of space for a family. The owners' contract and information was thorough and filled with suggestions of where to go and what to do in the area. Lovely!
Wonderful hosts, beautiful home - thanks so much for everything. This was the perfect place to stay an experience Montreal. Close enough to the action without being noisy or right in the bustle. Would certainly recommend this place to anyone!!!
