Charmante longère pour 8 personnes. Située au calme avec grand jardin et à seulement 10 mns des plages. TV, Internet, grand salon, une salle de bain avec douche sur baignoire et deux WC, quatre chambres.

Lovely cottage, comfortable for 8, in peaceful countryside but only 10 minutes from the beach. Large garden, spacious lounge, open plan kitchen and dining room, one large bathroom and two separate toilets. Please ask about shorter stays as we may be able to help.

The space
Cette longère vous rapellera peut être des souvenirs d'enfance. Peut être avez vous passé des vacances dans la maison secondaire de vos grands parents... La maison est confortable et spacieuse et ne manque pas d'espaces extérieurs. Certaines choses sont assez insolites comme la poignée des toilettes à l'étage qui se ferme en remontant celle ci vers le haut, à la verticale. Ou bien encore les stores en bois pour les vélux ! Tout ceci ajoute son charme à cette longère de caractère.

Nous ne fournissons pas les serviettes de bain, uniquement les essuies mains dans les toilettes. Si vous arrivez à pied ou velo, merci de nous en faire part car nous pouvons vous en fournir pour un petit supplément. Les lits sont préparés pour votre arrivée.
La cuisine est bien equipée mais veuillez apporter votre nourriture.

AUCUN ANIMAL AUTORISE car notre fils est très fortement allergique.

This beautiful cottage is nearing the end of its gradual but extensive renovation and redecoration. All of the bedrooms, dining room and lounge have been redecorated. There is a new, well equipped, kitchen and the bathroom has had a major makeover. The toilets have had a refresh and all that remains in need of attention is some of the flooring, and more thorough updates of the toilets. It is important for us to get the right balance between modernisation and keeping the charm you can only find in a beautiful old house like this. This little longère is comfortable for families or small groups of friends.

Amenities: We do not provide bath towels, only hand towels in the toilets. If you are arriving on foot or bicycle, please let us know and we can provide towels for a nominal charge. We do provide full bedding. The kitchen is well equipped with all essential equipment, but no food basics. Please bring whatever you wish to use.

Strictly NO PETS as our son has a serious allergic reaction to the hair of some animals.

La chambre principale (familiale) est située à l'étage. Elle est grande et a un lit de 2 places et demi. Il y a egalement un lit pour bébé (120X60). Elle vient juste d'être redécorée.
La chambre double est au rez de chaussée, à proximité de la salle de bains et des toilettes.
Les deux autres chambres sont à l'étage et equipées de 2 lits simples pour la première et d'un lit surperposé (2 couchages) pour la deuxième.
Il y a des placards de rangement dans toutes les chambres.
La salle de bains (baignoire/douche) est située au RDC avec toilettes séparées. AirBnB suggère que des toilettes séparées doivent être nommées comme 1/2 salle de bains c'est pourquoi nous avons marqués 2 salles de bains. La chambre double se situe en face de la salle de bains ce qui donne un accès facilité pour les personnes à mobilité réduite. Cependant nous n'avons pas d'accès chaise roulante car la porte de la salle de bains est trop étroite.
Les toilettes à l'étage se ferment en remontant la poignée vers le haut ce qui est un peu insolite.

The main bedroom is very large and has a king-sized bed and a cot (120x60). The second double room is downstairs and has a standard double bed. The other two upstairs bedrooms are a good size and have two single beds and bunk beds respectively. There is a good sized bathroom downstairs, a separate toilet downstairs and a toilet upstairs. AirBnB suggests a separate toilet is listed as 0.5 of a bathroom, which is why our listing says 2 bathrooms.

Nous avons deux jeunes enfants et nous essayons de vous accommoder au mieux pour que vous n'ayez pas à tout ramener de chez vous. Vous trouverez des assiettes en plastique, deux chaises enfants et une chaise bébé, les sièges des toilettes sont adaptés également pour les petites fesses :) il y a des marches enfants dans les toilettes pour y monter ou se laver les mains. Nous avons également deux barrières d'escalier.

We have two small children and understand the value of having facilities available where we stay. So the house has a cot, baby bath, high chairs, toddler suitable toilet seats and steps so little ones can use the toilets and sinks. We have two stair gates in an upstairs cupboard.

Il y a des tancarvilles dans les placards du haut pour sécher le linge ou des fils à linge dans le jardin, côté stationnement.

There are drying racks in an upstairs cupboard and drying lines in the parking area for drying laundry. The washing machine is in the kitchen, next to the back door.

Pour les soirées plus fraiches, il vous reste toujours la télé, le lecteur DVD et quelques jeux de société. Nous avons aussi l'internet pour réserver vos prochaines vacances :) L'internet n'est pas super rapide, 5.3mb/s mais n'oublions pas que nous sommes en campagne.

The main part of the garden is gated so more difficult to escape from. The bathroom is downstairs, as is one of the double rooms, so helpful for someone with reduced mobility. However, the bathroom door is not wide, so not suitable for wheelchair access.
You can find drying lines outside in the parking area and drying racks in the house.
There’s a TV with terrestrial digital TV and a DVD player. I measured the internet speed at 5.3mb/s - not extremely fast but we are rural!

Le jardin est très spacieux et ensoleillé toute la journée. La partie principale est cloturée pour sécuriser les jeunes enfants. Il y a aussi une partie parking où plusieurs voitures peuvent stationner.
La grande terrasse à l'arrière de la maison reçoit le soleil le matin et en fin d'après midi laissant quelles heures plus ombragées en plein après midi. Le salon de jardin accueille 8 personnes et nous avons aussi un parasol. Il ne manque plus que l'apéritif :)

The garden is very spacious, catching the sun all day. The large patio gets full sun in the morning and evening all summer, but gives some shade in the middle of the day. There's outdoor furniture to seat eight. There's gated off-road parking for several cars.

Les plages les plus proches se situent à Saint Jacut de la mer et Lancieux. Nous sommes comblés de belles plages de sable fin sur toute la côte. Pour les amoureux de surf, je recommande la plage des longchamps à St Lunaire.
La grande plage de Lancieux offre des cours de voile, de natation et tout plein d'autres activités pour les petits et grands. A l'opposé, si vous recherchez plus la tranquilité et une plage plus sauvage, je vous conseille la plage des Briantais.
Saint Malo, Saint Briac, Dinard, Dinan sont aussi des villes à ne pas manquer.

There are beaches very close at St Jacut and Lancieux, but if you're interested in staying in the area you'll know already that locals are spoilt for beaches, from the open sands of the Baie de Mont St Michel to those hidden under rocky cliffs and escarpments further west. The medieval town of Dinan, with it's timbered houses, castle and charming port on the river Rance is not to be missed. Neither are the local cider (bouché doux at 2% alcohol can be happily drunk all day long) and delicacies like Kouign Amman, far breton and galettes.

Ploubalay, Bretagne, France

There are several neighbouring houses, though only one is obviously visible from the house and none overlook the garden so it feels wonderfully private. The road next to the house runs a few kilometres to the main road from Ploubalay westwards, so the property is very easy to find. About a five minute drive away is a good sized Carrefour Market and boulangerie. Another couple of minutes away is the centre of Ploubalay with another small supermarket, banks, two more boulangeries and a handful of bars and restaurants.

An Anglo-French family, our small children are growing up bi-lingual and bi-cultural. Before the kids, Rhodri was doing a lot of running often up on the South Downs in Sussex, Sandrine following her passion for classic VWs. Visits to Brittany to see the French family were frequent, and every time we had a look in estate agent's windows, dreaming. While there, Rhodri’s running continued and he became pretty familiar with many of the local country roads. Many times he ran past a certain house, but always in the wrong direction, and he never saw it's facade. Sadly, circumstances changed, but that allowed us to start looking more seriously for a place of our own where we could ensure the kids would grow up feeling at home in France and with close contact with the French side of the family. Work committments mean very busy summers but more time off at other times, so "off-season" visits to the Côtes d'Armor will be increasing. Hopefully in years to come, with our proximity to the sea in the UK and in France, I'll be able to introduce the kids to sailing, which was my Dad's passion, and also to continue travelling to all the other amazing parts of the world.

Nous sommes Sandrine et Rhodri, respectivement Française et Anglais. Nous venons d'acheter cette longère ceci afin de pouvoir venir passer plus de temps avec ma famille car je suis originaire de Ploubalay. Rhodri a très peu de vacances l'été, c'est pourquoi nous mettons la maison à votre disposition.
J'ai une grande passion pour les choses anciennes parfois un peu insolites. J'adore les voitures classiques, j'ai moi même une Coccinelle de 1971. Elle ne gagne pas de concours (ce n'est pas le but) mais fait sourire tout le monde sur son passage ;)
J'adore aussi les vieilles maisons et les meubles anciens que je prend plaisir à repeindre lorsque ceci est nécessaire.
