About this listing
This stylish town-house apartment has recently been fully refurbished. It is 40m2 and has been beautifully arranged to take full advantage of the space and light. The apartment consists of an open plan kitchen/sitting room, a bright double bedroom and a modern bathroom. In the living room, there is a futon-sofa which unfolds to become a comfortable, full-sized double bed. A single inflatable mattress can also be provided, which takes the total number of guests accommodated up to 5.
The bus stop serving the Oxford Tube, National Express, Express London and Airline coaches is right outside our house - it is called the 'St Clements' stop. The flat is situated on the 2nd floor and, as in most traditional town-houses in the area, there is no lift. There are 34 stairs to negotiate.
Guests have access to a parking space and two bikes with helmets are also included (please let us know if you wish to use them during your stay). For the families with small child I could offer a cot and a stoller/buggy. For your comfort, you will also find in the apartment:
- fresh towels and bed linen
- hair dryer
- shower gel and shampoo
- tea, coffee, sugar.......all the kitchen contents are at your disposal
- Wifi internet
Interaction with Guests
Unless you wish to meet the owners in person, you will be free to enjoy your stay from beginning to end in complete privacy.
St Clements/Cowley is a vibrant area full of restaurants serving fantastic food from all over the world - Italian, Indian, Chinese, Spanish, Jamaican, Turkish and British are just some of those that can be found a stone’s throw from the apartment. In addition, there are plenty of lovely cafés, bars and quirky shops to while away a spare moment.
The flat is located a minute’s walk from a Sainsbury's supermarket, should you wish to do any food shopping.
The flat is very close to the centre of Oxford, just a minute from the river (where you can hire a punt in the summer) and some of Oxford’s most famous and striking colleges. After a 2 minute walk which takes you across the beautiful 18th century Magdalen Bridge, you’ll find yourself on the historic High Street. Walking is the best way to get around and explore Oxford, or you can get the full experience of life in Oxford as the residents and students do: by bike.
The Oxford tube, National Express, Express London and Airline coaches stop right outside our house – the stop is called 'St Clements'.
I expect our guests to be responsible and respectful of our apartment and its contents, as well as our neighbours’ peace of mind. Extra guests will only be permitted if the owners are notified and give their consent – this will be monitored. Smoking is not permitted in the apartment.
A special request: please take extra care with the wooden floor, especially with heavy suitcases and high heeled shoes etc., as the wood scratches easily. Please do not wear shoes inside the apartment.
Other than this, it is just a case of using common sense and treating the apartment with the same care as you would your own. If you see a plant, for example, we would very much appreciate your watering it.
Please remember to take the rubbish out after your stay (bins are outside in the rear of the property or look through window).
Place dirty dishes into dishwasher, tables in the cupboard on right.
Everything in perfect order. Great location, easy to find, excellent parking and very good directions. A super place to explore Oxford from and Victoria is a very gracious host. Thanks!
Een leuk appartement dicht in de buurt van de belangrijkste colleges die de moeite waard zijn om te bezoeken. Het was heel fijn om de parkeerplaats te kunnen gebruiken.
The flat was bright and welcoming in a great neighborhood and very close to the centre of town, but far enough away that it was not too noisy. The flat was clean, but we did find some used tissues stuffed in the cushions of the sofa bed. The sofa bed mattress was very thin (about a couple inches thick), but the bed in the bedroom was very thick and comfortable. The local Sainsburys market about a 5 minute walk away was very convenient for groceries. Overall, we would stay again on our next visit to Oxford.
Victoria was a meticulous and considerate host. The check-in was very smooth as she had detailed instructions for us. The fresh flowers and bowl of fruit was a nice welcome touch. There was also a list of restaurants in her manual which we found useful.
The flat was as presented on the website. Although it was small for a family of 5, the very central location and Victoria's attention to detail more than made up for it.
The listing was very accurate. The accommodation was very comfortable and the location was excellent.
