Gorgeous huge spacious private bungalow (self contained apartment) set in lush garden of fruit & vegetables with own entrance & BBQ, own kitchenette, bathroom, laundry facilities available, aircon & gas log fire, Upstairs bedroom & living with flat screen TV, DVD player, IPod Doc station, Wifi internet. All linen, kitchen utensils provided. Bathrobe, slippers, soap, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and hand cream, hairdryer makes it very comfortable and very private. Parking is available in free public carpark. Train & buses, beach, lots of shopping, cinemas, restaurants & cafes all walking distance, easy commute to city centre (25 mins) & airport (45 mins), car rental available around corner.
I'm a kind & generous host, living in the house next door, so able to assist when in need. You will have everything you need to look after yourself, but if you'd like company, I am able to cook gourmet meals upon request, and also willing to arrange some sightseeing.
The Location is about 1 hr drive from some of the best wineries in Australia;
Philip Island (where you can see Penguins & Seals on the beach) is about 1hr away; Magnificent Mornington Peninsula less than 1 hr drive, helps make Highett a fabulous location, with so much to do.
Living next door with my Jack Russell dog, we will share the garden at times.
I'm into sailing from Sandringham Yacht Club on a 51ft yacht, so if you're into adventure, I can arrange for you to come along with some notice.
I've travelled extensively and lived for periods of time overseas, so have many stories to tell. My work keeps me busy as an author and business consultant.

Private access to and from bungalow. Enjoy meals overlooking a lush and cool garden. (NB. Sometimes during the drought periods, the garden can look a little parched and dry).
Interaction with Guests
Choose to interact as you like or enjoy complete privacy at all times. The choice is yours. The Bungalow has it's own key locked entrance.
The neighborhood features are numerous. If you enjoy dining out, groovy bars and cafe lifestyle, there are numerous to choose from conveniently located literally around the corner. If you require transport there are buses that go all over Melbourne leaving just around the corner or from the conveniently located bus station at Southland Shopping Mall just a stroll away. The train station is also very closely located.
It's a lovely neighborhood and so easy to walk everywhere to conveniently located places. If you enjoy swimming, running, working out there are 3 major gyms with all facilities within walking distance.
There are numerous parks so closeby, some with lakes to enjoy ducks and wildlife living there so freely. The bayside beaches are also close and clean, safe to swim in and so enjoyable to spend time at for a picnic or just a walk. Many water sports can be enjoyed there so closeby
This is an extremely pleasant area to be in with so much available at your fingertips. Moorabbin airport is 10 mins drive away but also accessible by public transportation. Melbourne Tullamarine Airport is accessible by the FAPAS bus service that picks up and delivers passengers just around the corner. Its easy to live here with so many services available
Transportation is easily accessed very closeby to locations all over Melbourne. ...buses, trains all very short walk to access. You can calculate transport methods and timing by going to the website for "Public Transport Victoria". Choose the Highett Station location as the starting point and then type in your chosen destination to have the best routes, methods and timing worked out for you.
There is no onsite parking available however, Free off-street parking is available adjacent to the property.
Other Things to Note
While the Bungalow is spacious (60 sqm upstairs & 20sqm downstairs) it is generally better suited to singles or couples due to the open plan layout.
There is a double bed (sleeps 2) and a fold down futon couch (sleeps up to 2 people, but is likely more comfortable for 1). The advertised tariff is for 1 person. Expect to pay additional tariff for additional guests.
If you wish to stay with children, please be aware there are stairs which may require a child gate for safety of smaller children.
There is no parking within the property. However there is free off-street parking adjacent to the property.
The Bungalow accommodation is built over a garage accommodating 2 vehicles. There may be some sound experienced when garage door is opened once or twice a day. No guests to date have ever complained or commented about the sound, but we like to bring it to your attention in case you are super-sensitive to sound. It is mostly a very quiet and peaceful location.
This is a non-smoking property. Please don't book if you are a smoker. We don't accept smokers smoking outside.
Sober & respectful people are welcome. We take care of our property and expect that our guests will too.
We are very Environmentally Aware and appreciate guests who are careful about the environment too. We turn off lights and power switches not being used, we are careful about water usage in a drought-prone country, we use minimal chemicals in our home. Our fruits and vegetables in our garden are organically grown and we recycle everything possible. We like guests that are sensitive and compliant to this way of life.
Guests that disrespect power, gas and water usage will be charged additional fees via the AirBNB security deposit system.
Our guests occasionally invite friends or family to visit them while staying at our home. As a matter of security and courtesy, we require all visitors to be announced prior to entering the property. Visitors are NOT permitted to stay over without our prior approval. Additional tariffs will apply for visitors staying over-night.
Security is paramount during these troubled times. You will have private access which is fully secured with deadlock entry. The property remains secure when guests keep it locked. We require our guests to ensure the entrance gate is locked at all times after accessing, otherwise security is compromised for each of us. Keeping your door locked is also your responsibility. We cannot take responsibility for careless guests. In addition, we will impose any insurance excess costs or other damages to careless guests via the AirBNB security deposit system where inconsiderate habits result in theft, loss or damage to our property.
Our home is very clean and tidy. We prefer our guests are too. If you stay with us, we want you to relax and enjoy the surroundings but also be respectfully tidy. We are NOT offering a motel or serviced apartment arrangement. It is your responsibility to keep things in order.
Responsible and considerate people who are prompt with their communication will be appreciated.
We are generous people and usually deliver far more value than you would expect because we believe it is the little surprises that make the difference for a pleasant stay. We appreciate people that appreciate that and don't take advantage.
The pricing is already very competitive for the quality offered and discounts are already programmed for weekly, monthly and longer termed guests. Enquiries pushing for further discounts are not welcome. Guests requiring low cost accommodation should choose cheaper and lower quality options. Please do not waste time with requests to reduce the price as it is regarded as insulting.
Wifi Internet is included in the tariff, however this is provided with fair use in mind. Heavy use for work and downloading of movies and music will be considered unreasonable and any excess usage will incur an additional fee to you via the AirBNB security deposit system.
We put a lot of thoughtful heart and care into our offer for our guests. Please only book if you are appreciative people. Those that are greedy, disrespectful, sloppy and habitually take advantage of others are not welcome.
Some people request pre-meetings as a way to get a better deal or to book outside of the Airbnb arrangement. As a matter of security and respect for the Airbnb rules please don't ask us to meet with you for a prior to booking face-to face discussion. If you have questions or concerns it is easy to write these and we promise to always respond as promptly and honestly as possible. If you have a special request or need we will always do our best to accommodate and if we cannot meet your request we will be clear about that.
We see rules as the boundaries that set the tone of the arrangement for freedom from shocks and dissatisfaction. We aim to please within these boundaries and welcome your enquiry if you accept our terms.
