This brand new round house was built in mind for the vacationer. With it's large kitchen and wrap around deck this house was built for entertaining and relaxing.
Everything about this house is unique giving you a one of a kind vacation. The open floor plan, endless windows and ceiling fans throughout give this house an airy treehouse feel. Enjoy the river view while you sip your margarita in the hot tub or gaze up at the stars at night.
The house has two bedrooms which can sleep four very comfortably. More people can always sleep in the main area of the house.
The neighborhood is complete southern charm, bring your fishing gear and catch striped bass, grouper, trout, flounder, crabs and many more! Bring your bikes and during June head to Morris Blueberry farm where you can pick your own delicious blueberries, also visit the Bridgeton Marina or go antiquing at Kirkman's Antiques.
Bridgeton is only five minutes from beautiful downtown New Bern, historic Tryon Palace and birthplace of Pepsi Cola. Tons of local restaurants, farmers market, shopping, museums, parks and tours.
Full bathroom with an antique claw foot tub for soaking (or bathing the little ones after a day in the sun!) or get in the 20sf party shower which has two high pressure adjustable shower heads separately controlled.
The kitchen has a commercial style gas stove w/ grill and convection oven (and a book with local takeout menus). The kitchen island seats eight adults comfortably and doubles as the dining room table, the sink is large enough to put even the largest pots in with room to spare. Also in the kitchen is a wood stove for those feeling adventurous during the winter time. It bakes bread wonderfully and does an excellent job heating the house (electric heating and cooling also!)
The house has wifi through out and two tvs with netflix, pandora, etc. Also a small library of books and board games.
Downstairs we keep a croquet game which is always fun to set up in the spacious yard. At night enjoy the fire pit as it makes for a lovely end to fun filled day.

The wall partitions are wonderful in nurturing close friends and family during a vacation or getaway and allow for amazing circulation and display of artwork! If you're up to "monkeying around" pull up on the monkey bars and play on top of the walls! Can't do that anywhere else!
Couches - Queen sized futon couch added!
Bed firmness - we've added a wonderful pillow topper by Holy Lamb Organics!

I so enjoyed staying for a month at this "round house" just across the Neuse river from downtown New Bern NC. I had the most spectacular sunset views right from the kitchen sink. It was conveniently located within a few minutes' drive to the farmer's market and the Tryon Palace.
This house is "industrial style" inside. This made it very dog friendly.
Andrea and her friends were very accommodating with every little request I asked during my month long stay.
I certainly would recommend this host and house! Thanks for everything Andrea!
We stayed at the round house for our 8th anniversary and it was a great experience. Andrea was a very thoughtful host, leaving us a vase of beatiful roses. We enjoyed several evenings in the hot tub, some wonderful home-cooked meals that we made in the stocked kitchen and even some evening croquet in the great yard.
We had a great weekend at the New Bern Round House! Everything was thoughtfully laid out with little notes everywhere telling us where to find things and how it all worked. If I find myself back in the area there is no question I would stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!
The reservation was canceled 9 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Andrea is a great host. Not only have she and her husband thoughtfully built and outfitted their home, but they have also thoughtfully landscaped their lot to support local wildlife (it is a certified urban habitat!) and maximize the feeling of privacy. Up on the spacious deck or in the amazing hot tub, one has the feeling of being in a secluded treehouse. As others have mentioned, this home is bright and airy with plenty of space to stretch out and explore, but also featuring cozy nooks for alone or couple time. Others have also pointed out that the walls do not go to the ceiling, so I was worried that the lack of privacy in the bathroom (we were a couple traveling together). However, the bathroom has both a well placed ceiling fan and vent and we discovered while trying to converse that the sound from one (or both) provided plenty of "masking" for those who are shy about bathroom sounds. We also loved the large shower which helped us get ready more quickly in the morning. The kitchen is nicely outfitted with everything one needs to cook of heat things up if you want to eat in. I was concerned upon discovering no microwave but found that the convection oven let us easily reheat leftovers for breakfast. You can tell that the owners responded to feedback from prior guests, as the beds were cozy - even for the one who was worried about transitioning from a tempurpedic for the weekend. And the black curtains helped to contain the abundant sunlight and allow the sleepyhead to sleep in every morning. We spent a fair amount of time just relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the reliable wifi. Although we never quite got to the NES, they have quite a nice collection of games for all ages - including Zelda! Although we did not watch (Roku) tv, we did enjoy the Netfix. And no worries for the less technically inclined...Andrea and Greg have everything set to go and we'll placed notes and an enormous binder of information to answer any of your questions. There is also a collection of maps and brochures. We did wander downtown and also ventured out to Stand Up Outfitters in New Bern to try our hand at Paddle boarding. The owners, Charley and Kathy (?) we're amazingly informative not only about their beloved sport but also the town, restaurants & things to do. As a carnivore and a vegetarian, we were a bit concerned about our ability to satisfy both. We ate at the Thai Thai Seafood restaurant one night and at the 37th street Pizzaria (sic) another. The Thai food was good especially considering the small town and location. The Italian was nice - we enjoyed the garlic bread immensely, found the lasagna meaty with a nicely flavored sauce and the vegetarian pizza quite tasty. Plenty of leftovers for breakfast from both places, too. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the...
I loved how the house was built, and I especially loved that they had everything in its place, with little notes explaining where things were. I had a blast playing with the nintendo. Even though I didnt see Andrea, I still felt like I was comfortable and welcomed into her home. I played with the kitten and fed the chicken! The morning views of the river was the best so far! Thanks Andrea!!!
My husband, 2 young children and I really enjoyed our stay in this cozy house. Andrea gave great advice about the surroundings and did everything to make our stay comfortable. I would highly recommend this house for those looking to stay near New Bern.

Hi, I'm Andrea! My husband and I are pretty laid back people. We enjoy adventure, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, wild life, self-sustainability, traveling off the beaten path, new foods, new cultures and mostly we just love slowing down and enjoying life :) So far as traveling, we're a pretty low impact pair, we don't require much and we clean up after ourselves, we're quiet too! We've been hosting travelers for a couple of years, outside of this site, and decided to offer our home for others to enjoy!
Greg runs a wood mill and sells slabs for furniture, counter tops, shelving, etc. through Bridgeton Art Gallery. I run the vacation rental for New Bern Round House.
