About this listing
Positano B&B is on an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds with a pool and waterfall. There are many private areas to relax and read or be entertained by the desert wildlife. This bedroom has a queen sized bed as well as a futon. The french doors open onto a private flagstone patio with Adirondack chairs, perfect for reading and bird (website hidden) and DVD included.
The newly updated bathroom is down a short hallway and would be shared with the guest in Sweet too! if that room is booked as well. We keep it sparkling clean and the shower is wonderful.
We live in a quiet residential neighborhood with meandering streets and gentle hills. It is a great place to walk or jog. A few blocks away you can jump on the Rillito River Park Trail which is a popular running/biking/skating/walking trail that crosses the entire city. We have a couple bikes here and we'd be happy to loan them to you.
Tucson National Golf Resort is about a mile away if you like golfing. Or eating.. the restaurant is nice too. Tucson is full of fabulous golf courses and hiking trails and all kinds of outdoor activities.
Foothills Mall is about a mile away for the fashionista in you. There are countless restaurants in the neighborhood as well. The I-10 freeway is conveniently close to us.
If you ask, I would be happy to email you a link listing all Tucson events for the time you are interested in visiting... there's always a lot going on in the Old Pueblo.
We're not big on rules and since our guests so far have been very considerate we haven't felt a need to lay down any rules. I have had people ask about using our kitchen and that is something that we would rather not do. So there you have it:
Rule #1: no kitchen privileges.
However, we are happy to clear some refrigerator space for a few items that you might need to bring.
Rule#2: Okay, one more. No smoking in the house.
If you're not family when you arrive, you will be by the time you leave. Ruthann and JR just can't help themselves. Their welcoming warmth. The music. The unanticipated offer of food. The energy of their recently rescued pups. You can't go wrong. Good location toward the north end of Tucson. 5ish minutes from I-10. Easy access to all the main north-south surface streets. Not so far that UofA and downtown are a hike. It was a pleasure to be back with familia.
The accommodations were actually better than I anticipated, very nice, clean & private. Ruthann and her family took care of all my need and made me feel very welcome. I would recommend Ruthann and her home to anyone planning to visit Tucson.
Sweet....Yup. What a wonderful experience it was staying with Ruthann and JR...and Kitty. Everything was perfect, our two gracious hosts made us feel right at home and the property itself did the same. We were welcomed into their home like family and were sad to leave; I guess that means we will need a return visit.
This place is a true gem! Ruthann welcomed us warmly even though we arrived quite late. Our room was exactly as described: lovely, spacious and clean, and included a private covered patio off of in the desert garden they have artfully created around their home. Their home itself had many colorful, artistic touches. Breakfast is casual, delicious, healthy, and included lively conversation with Ruthann and JR and the two other couples lodging there. But what really made this a special place is the warmth, good humor and genuine interest shown by Ruthann and JR. They really know how to create a home-away-from-home for travelers. We hope to come back!
We had a great stay! Ruthann was friendly and accommodating. The location worked well for us and the grounds were lovely.
My hubby and I had an amazing Valentines weekend due to our gracious host. She even made us green drink which we love in the mornings not to mention a yummy breakfast all around. Her place is very quaint and private, I appreciated that. I also loved her decor there was lots of fun colors and art which made for a unique experience. Lastly I fell in love with her dog kitty who is the cutest! Thank you:)

About the Host, Ruthann
I am retired (yippee!) American Airlines. My husband JR and I love having guests in our home. JR plays guitar for fun and created beautiful landscapes for a living until he, too, retired.
If we could travel ALL the time we would. We have been on some great trips and especially love Mexico, Guatemala, Spain and France. There are so many places yet to experience . We have done some house swaps and that is a great way to experience another environment.
We can't travel all the time, so lucky for us that we live in one of the most beautiful places on earth...the Sonoran desert. We both love to immerse ourselves in creative projects here at home and so our surroundings have become this endless Home Improvement Project. We figured out a long time ago that we like the process more than the end result, and we'll never ever run out of ideas.
There is usually music around this house. JR is often working on a blues song or jazzy instrumental and he loves an audience and he loves to jam with anyone who will join him.
A few years ago we fell in love with a spot on the Sea of Cortez in Mexico's Baja Peninsula. This has become our most recent and most thrilling project. JR is building us a casita there and we hope to share it with Airbnb guests as well as friends and family in the foreseeable future.
Here at home, Tucson has fabulous hiking trails so we hike em. There are wonderful yoga studios so I vinyasa in em. Biking trails abound and we like to do that too.
Our dog Lucy and puppy Pancho get along well with people. They may bark when you first arrive but they are all bark, no bite.
So, there. Now you have a little info about us. Now come on down!
