About this listing
Walk score 98%. Views, all amenities, incredible deal--no hidden costs. No deposit or cleaning fee. Managed by an Airbnb veteran. Check the reviews and pics: 4-star city living/2-star price. Rates start at $195. $15/night to park in building.
I've listed my own property with Airbnb since 2009, so when my neighbor Ryan said he'd be leaving to go teach in South Korea, he asked me to manage his place.
Inspired by 1960's music, favorite Rock 'n' Roll musicians with posters and lithographs to augment Ryan's rocker library, with really comfortable, well-designed beds and furniture. We hope you'll agree, this is one of the cooler, upscale offerings on Airbnb.
No extra charges unless you want maid service during your stay or reserved parking.
There's no deposit or cleaning fee, no "check-out checklist" which often asks you to do dishes and laundry. In this accommodation, cleaning is included in the nightly rate and, unlike staying in a hotel, there's no 17.9% hotel occupancy fee and state taxes. Reserved, covered parking in the building is $15 a night. Parking in the area costs upwards of $45 a day. The price you see on the calendar plus AirBnB's commission is what you pay at booking.
Once you book, there are no other costs to you, unless you want the housekeeper to come in during your stay or you want reserved parking, either of which is payable on check out.
Please note: The parking space is good for mid-size cars and compact SUVs, like a Suburu Forester (ask the rental agent, to be sure). It's possible to park mid-sized SUVs the size of a Toyota Highlander, but hard park.
33% Off. If you're looking for a reservation within 72 hours of your arrival, don't book the reservation without first contacting me, so I can send you a Special Offer for 33% off.
The calendar is always up to date, so if you've used Airbnb before and have racked up some reviews or Airbnb has verified a couple of your IDs, you can book immediately. Otherwise, hit the blue Request to Book button up on the right and tell me a little about yourself and why you're coming to Seattle. I'll be able to pre-approve your reservation and will keep in touch through your arrival.
The condo-owners association has imposed a strict 3-night minimum so, I'm sorry to say, we can't accept shorter stays.
Downtown is the main business area, waterfront, Pike Place Market, and Seattle's primary shopping district. Downtown is compact compared to other West Coast cities, so it's easy to walk everywhere. The western part of First Hill, where you'd be staying, is a wonderful, prime, sub-neighborhood within Downtown.
On a map, it looks like the building is adjacent to the freeway, but freeways run under the city near the building, making it easier to walk the downtown neighborhood than it looks on a map.
We're a block east of the Central Business District that includes the Convention Center, a 7-minute walk from the Westlake Light rail link to/from the airport, a block south of the Pike/Pine Corridor which encompasses the retail shopping core, and a block west of Capitol Hill, Seattle's popular district for nightlife and entertainment. This location has a walk score of 98 and a transit score of 100, so it's easy to get anywhere from here.
Sports and music...
You'll be in close proximity to stadiums for sports and concerts, just a 20-minute walk to see the Mariners, Sounders and the Super Bowl-winning Seahawks, or even faster, take the light rail or bus.
The University of Washington is easy to get to. Take a tunnel bus about 3-1/2 blocks away and be at the U-Dub in 11 minutes.
The Space Needle, Key Arena and EMP... these will be on your Seattle check list. Just walk a few blocks over to Westlake Mall, catch the Monorail, and you're there.
You in town for work?
In the 2nd bedroom there's a desk and monitor if you like to surf using two screens. You'll also find some office supplies in the desk. For printing jobs Kinko's/Fed Ex is in the Convention Center, where you can get just about any kind of custom printing you want, plus shipping. They have computers to rent, too.
Want to stay in at night?
There's free WiFi internet access, Cable+ TV in the living room and both bedrooms, CD, DVD and Blue Ray movie collections, Nintendo Wii, games, books, cards.
We're pretty sure you'll find this an ideal hotel alternative: the best in comfort, price, and location.
About the apartment...
It has two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed, the other with a double- and twin-bed bunk, a sofa that's extremely comfortable for one, plus two bathrooms, which make this ideal for two to five guests.
Located in a rock solid, mid-century high rise, this condo is comfortably modern and fully furnished. There's an abundance of bed/bath linens, a fully-stocked kitchen. Pick up some wine, fresh seafood, and fruit at Pike Place Market, then walk back and have a wonderful dinner party.
There's a portable air conditioner, for your comfort, though it seldom gets really hot in Seattle. You'll have a fully-equipped kitchen including coffee makers, blender, toaster, microwave, and within the apartment is an environmentally-friendly combination washer/dryer.
The building is a secure environment with an on-site building manager and front desk concierge. There are two rooftop decks with outstanding city views.
Relax and enjoy yourselves...
With seven inches of concrete between each floor, you won't hear your neighbors and can dance and listen to music quite loud, though we ask you to please keep it moderate after 10pm. The apartment isn't 100% sound proof from the city, but with double-pane windows that muffle noise and black-out curtains with added noise reduction, it's sound proofed to the level of rooms in the neighboring Hilton Hotel suites and Sheraton.
What would a trip to Seattle be without coffee? You'll find plenty of complimentary coffee at the condo as well as espresso and drip coffee makers. Have a cuppa on us!ii
After you book and prior to your arrival, I'll send you an email with all sorts of good information about how to get to the building, how to reach me, and a lot of recommendations for fun things to do while you're here.
Gaining access to the building and apartment is easy, once you know the code. There are no restrictions on how late you check in.
Interaction with Guests
I live nearby and am always available to help make your stay everything you want it to be, and more! Call, text, or email anytime.
Keep in mind that Airbnb blocks email addresses, web addresses, and phone numbers until after booking. It's their way of making sure people don't make side deals. As soon as you book, we'll be able to exchange contact info.
Siena, Your Host
Dear Prospective Guest,
There aren’t really any lists of house rules, just be sure to let me know if there's anything you need to make your stay more enjoyable. Basically, go on in and make yourself comfortable.
There’s no such thing as a check-in time that’s too late, so no worries there. Let me know if you'd like an earlier check-in time than 3pm or later check-out than 11am. It can sometimes be arranged, depending on other bookings. Worst case scenario, we can store your luggage until the apartment's ready.
The building is concrete, which means it’s pretty soundproof, so you don’t need to be shy about the volume of music or TV – just keep it moderate after 10pm.
Hold on to the keys and, if you use the reserved parking garage opener, be sure to return it when you check out. The lobby key fob has a $50 replacement cost imposed by the homeowners association that I must pass on to you, should you lose it. With that in mind, no one has ever lost one in 15 years with my other rental, so I’m pretty confident it won’t be an issue for future guests (my cell # is on the key chain, and finders have always contacted me). The garage opener has a replacement cost of $50, should you lose it.
We don't charge a security deposit. I've never had a problem in all the years I've rented, which speaks to the integrity and consideration of all my wonderful guests. There have been a few minor mishaps, but guests have always come forward and offered to make it right.
When you arrive, there will be tourist brochures and a welcome letter on the kitchen bar with more information, like the WiFi access code, plus descriptions of how to use the washer/dryer, how to get to the rooftop decks, restaurant recommendations, and other good information.
I want you to have fun, relax, be happy, and thoroughly enjoy your stay. I'll do everything I can to make that happen, so will Nadia, our beloved and outstanding housekeeper. It’s hoped you’ll book with me. I'm confident you’ll enjoy the accommodations. I'll do everything I can to make your stay wonderful.
Although my party did not meet Siena she communicated thoroughly and promptly and we had no trouble accessing the property. Siena detailed many options of how to get to downtown Seattle before we arrived and we took her advice. The condo was clean and welcoming. Everything we wanted was there. We noticed there were even a couple of umbrellas by the door. This is a great listing that we would have no hesitation in highly recommending.
Quiet street but easy access to everything we wanted to explore in Seattle. Communication was good and the whole experience was smooth. The size of the apartment was perfect for a family of 4 and our teen sons especially appreciated the cool decor.
Great location for exploring downtown. Our family of 4 had ample space & appreciated the cleanliness of the apartment. The kitchen was very well stocked and we enjoyed the goodies in the fridge too!
Siena is a wonderful hostess and made us feel at home. The condo was comfortable and had everything we needed, and is within walking distance of many of the places we wanted to see. It was like staying at a friend's house!
Our stay in Seattle was wonderful and we felt very much at home in the apartment. Sienna did everything she could to make us feel welcome! She knew our flight landed late in the evening so she left pancake mix and syrup for us the next morning! We loved all of the little touches like the the restaurant recommendations, the very easy instructions and the stocked kitchen.
The apartment is spacious and clean and a perfect option for our family of 5.
Siena was an outstanding host. She communicated early and politely to ensure we knew everything necessary to have the trip go smoothly. Her pre-arrival email was a wealth of information about the apartment as well as providing a huge amount of information about the city for unfamiliar visitors. The apartment itself is in a great location for a city holiday, close to a lot of amenities and within walking distance of just about anything you would want to see while visiting. It is well set up and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again if visiting Seattle.
This is close to the roastery and other great restaurants. Siena made us feel welcome from the beginning. She had a box of pancake mix for a "midnight snack". We got in so late we made them the next day. She also had several beers in the fridge as well. The first few days were hot (we are from Texas so more warm to us) she provided a little ac unit to keep us cool. The rest of the time it was cool enough at night to sleep with the windows open. Siena provied instuctions for us and was very helpful. I wouldn't do this place justice if I didn't mention the roof top. We enjoyed an adult beverage as we watched the sun go down. Very relaxing after a day of walking. Siena did an awesome job making us feel welcome.

About the Host, Siena
I moved to Seattle in 1990 and love it here. Beautiful city, wonderful people.
I've been hosting since 1999 and have met terrific people from all over the world. It's gratifying to be able to provide an affordable, comfortable hotel alternative right in the heart of the City.
I'm also a writer and nutritional therapist. I love my work.
