Portland is known for its public transportation. It has some of the best in the country. Two bus lines are within one block away. The 19 will take you directly downtown, and it only takes about 10 minutes. Cost is about $2. It's a great deal.
Hello! This is a totally separate apartment with separate entrance in the back of the house. When you arrive you can access the keys to the apartment with the lockbox installed near the door to the unit. The combination will be provided after booking.
Please remove shoes inside the apartment.
Pets welcome! The pet fee is $10/day. Please wipe off paws on wet and rainy days to keep the apartment as clean as possible. And if you don't mind keep pets off furniture as much as possible. It is much appreciated!
Enjoy your stay and the neighborhood! Go out for a drink or icecream, watch a movie in or down the street at the Moreland Theatre, and have fun.
Just let me know if you need anything or have any questions.
John's Yukon Getaway Apartment was an excellent place for our trip to Portland. The apartment was very well-kept and clean, with plenty of towels in the bathroom, dishes available in the kitchenette, and a comfy bed. We used public transportation, and bus stops are within easy walking distance, with bus rides generally taking 20-30 minutes to get into downtown, and there are plenty of restaurants & shops within walking distance to the apartment, too, in a pleasant neighborhood. John was always very helpful in answering my questions and responding promptly and courteously to messages!
The Yukon Getaway is a very comfortable, clean and well-appointed basement apartment. The location is great - there's convenient access to downtown (#19 bus) and the Rose Quarter/Lloyd District (#70 bus), plus there are nice stores and places to eat around the Sellwood-Moreland area. John is a great host - very helpful and quick to respond to any messages.
This was our first Airbnb experience. We did not meet our host but he was very responsive anytime we emailed/texted him with questions. My husband and I were quite satisfied with our accommodations and we would highly recommend this apartment. We were visiting our daughter at Reed college and it was within a couple of miles from the school....very convenient. Thanks John!
We were very pleased with the apartment. It was comfortable and clean. John is an excellent host and very kind. The neighborhood is quiet and parking is very easy. We liked being able to access the keys in a lockbox on our own. It made checking in and getting settled easy and quick. The only thing we'd change is the pillows. They could be a little better, but it's not huge deal. We'd definitely stay here again.
The place was wonderful! Good location, very close to the bus which gets you downtown in no time. There were towels and bathrobes and fluffy clean sheets! The kitchenette is perfect for making dinner and keeping beer cold. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely go back :)
This is my second visit to one of John's places. The apartment is perfectly appointed and perfectly located. I didn't need to have much direct contact with John becasue everything was fine. However, anytime in my two stays I have needed something, he has been very responsive. Whne I odn't ave to stay in a hotel, this will bemy "go to" place!

I grew up in Portland and feel fortunate to live in such a fantastic city and neighborhood, and I'm excited to share it with you. I'm a very active person and I enjoy all the great activities Portland has to offer, including skiing, snowboarding, surfing, biking, running, you name it. I would love to make recommendations about what to do during your stay here. There are many things very close by. You won't be disappointed with the accommodations or the activities that are available to you.
I've traveled to France, Germany, and Japan, and truly appreciate the diverse cultures around the world. I feel humbled when I travel because of all the warm and kind people I meet. I want your experience here in Portland to be great and I'll do what I can to help you enjoy your stay.
