Although it's a basement apartment, it has tall ceilings and is very bright.

But you may not need any of these because the Yukon Getaway is within blocks of world class dining, movie theatre, coffee shops, shopping, and everything you could possibly need. Sellwood/Moreland is one of the premier neighborhoods in Portland, and the Yukon Getaway is in the heart of it. Westmoreland Park is within easy walking distance, as well as the Springwater Cooridor, Sellwood Park, Oaks Park, and Oaks Bottom wildlife refuge. I'll gladly point you in the direction of all the wonderful activities this neighborhood has to offer. But if you'd rather discover the neighborhood on your own, that's fine too.
There is a lockbox with key to get into the unit, and once you're settled in, if you have questions about what is around the neighborhood to do or see, just let me know.
Portland is known for its public transportation. It has some of the best in the country. Two bus lines are within one block away. The 19 will take you directly downtown, and it only takes about 10 minutes. Cost is about $2. It's a great deal.
Hello! This is a totally separate apartment with separate entrance in the back of the house. When you arrive you can access the keys to the apartment with the lockbox installed near the door to the unit. The combination will be provided after booking.
Please remove shoes inside the apartment.
Pets welcome! The pet fee is $10/day. Please wipe off paws on wet and rainy days to keep the apartment as clean as possible. And if you don't mind keep pets off furniture as much as possible. It is much appreciated!
Enjoy your stay and the neighborhood! Go out for a drink or icecream, watch a movie in or down the street at the Moreland Theatre, and have fun.
Just let me know if you need anything or have any questions.
Bathroom with dual vanities, tub and shower. Tile walls and floor. Very light, bright, and fresh
We had a good stay at the Yukon Getaway. I had a couple of questions before we arrive which were answered promptly by John. The room was very clean and updated. We were able to eat in and enjoy the large screen TV.
This little spot was just as we expected. The bed was very comfortable, the neighborhood felt very safe, and the place was extremely clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
John was easy to communicate with and the place was very modern and well kept. The floors overhead creeked as this was a basement apartment, however amenities such as a small kitchen and laundry was helpful. It was a short ride to downtown and close to everything. Parking was also easy to find.
We stayed 8 nights over July 4 weekend and went to the Waterfront Blues festival. The Sellwood neighborhood is a great locale and we walked to 3 good restaurants, and a full size grocery. The basement apartment was nicely remodeled with light wood flooring and a lovely bathroom with 2 vanities and nice tile accents. We made use of the private laundry room with washer and dryer. The kitchenette is ok for short stays or for breakfast and lunch but not really set up for making dinners. There was a bar sink and mini fridge with a very small freezer about 5 inches tall, so not much could be stored in there. More silverware and a spatula would be appreciated. The apartment was air conditioned but there was no thermostat to control the temperature. The unit above us controlled the thermostat, resulting in temps about 70 degrees all week, (too cold for us). The day time temps outdoors were in the mid 90's that week so we opened the windows to try to warm the unit up and found a small space heater that we used in the bathroom. This unit is not properly sound insulated, so we heard conversations and footsteps from above, especially when we were in the bedroom.
We used both earplugs and a sound machine to sleep, but the creaking floors from above still kept us awake. Due to this issue and the lack of thermostat, I would not stay for such a long period in this apartment again.
Don't hesitate to book this cute little apartment! We were pleasantly surprised to find a well appointed basement (really "garden") apartment in a residential neighborhood. The owner has updated the apartment well. The bed is comfortable and the linens cozy. The bathroom includes two sinks, which is important for us, the towels are great, and the water pressure is wonderful. The lighting is very good, especially in the bathroom. The kitchenette is adequate, with a toaster oven, microwave, sink and small refrigerator (larger than a "mini fridge"). There is a washer and dryer in the laundry room, although we did not use it. There is plenty of parking on the street, and the neighborhood is safe. The neighborhood is convenient to the Convention Center, and to freeways and downtown Portland. There is a good Mexican restaurant half a block away (the Iron Horse), and others in the area. The cable wifi service is fast and fantastic! The only slight "con" is that there is an apartment upstairs, and you are at the mercy of the tenants up there. There is no thermostat in the basement apartment, and the tenants upstairs control the temperature. But that was a small thing compared to the comfort and convenience of this charming little apartment.
John was responsive and great. Place was neat, clean, and ultimately what was expected. The upstairs neighbor creeks a bit when walking around but its a basement apartment. Love the shops and breweries in walking distance as well.
Overall would go back in a heart beat. thx
John was able to accomodate our early check-in request. The apartment was clean, and looked just like the pictures. It was a lovely place to stay. The neighborhood was charming with cute craftsman houses, lots of friendly people, and lots of interesting restaurants, cafes, and bars. It was a quite neighborhood with lots of trees. It also has a nice bookstore nearby.
