The space

The cabana is located next to Finca beach house on six acres one mile north of Placencia village. 200 feet of beautiful white sand beach are just steps from the house. Our property also stretches all the way to the lagoon, where you can kayak and bird watch. There is a small reef 70 feet from the water's edge where starfish, sea urchin and many colorful fish can be found. The water is calm and safe for swimming. The secluded sandy front yard has papaya, almond and cashew trees, coconut, hibiscus and other flowering bushes. Bicycles, hammocks and beach chairs are provided for your enjoyment. Town is an easy 30 minute walk along the beach or a quick bike ride or taxi away.

We built our structures with a respect for the natural landscape and as the peninsula gets more developed, our finca has become a haven for the multitudes of birds that make Placencia their home. The traditional Belizean wooden cabana is located on the beach next door to the beach house. Built on stilts, you can catch the breeze while watching the sunrise from the deck out front. There is a queen bed, futon couch, fully stocked kitchenette and bathroom with hot water shower. Sleeps 4 max.

Guest access

We provide complimentary bicycles for your use. There is a small pretty well stocked kitchen and a private shady yard right on the beach.

Interaction with guests

I live in Vermont and only get to visit 2x a year if I am lucky but we have fabulous caretakers- Val, Valerie and Jose who are on site and will take good care of you. Check out my other property listed on airbnb, FInca beach house as well.

We stayed during the off season, which was great! It was incredibly peaceful and relaxing! Town is just the right distance for those who want to enjoy the festivities and nightlife yet don't want to live in it. The dogs that live there are great for security and a sense of home. The hosts cheeked on us daily in the morning to be sure we didn't need anything. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes to be independent in there travel and explore all options, not just resort options

The beach cabana at Finca was more than we could have ever wished for. The space was perfect for our honeymoon. Equipped with both bicycles and snorkel gear you don't really need much more. It was easy to just stay right at Finca. Wonderful places to eat (miraposa and turtle inn) in either direction very short walk from your own private beach front. We went in the wet season which I loved, barely anyone was around us walking by and all of our experiences were much more intimate. The weather was great. Few rain showers here or there but mostly at night and I had plenty of beach time. This place it paradise. The groundskeepers were very sweet and helped us with anything that was needed and their pets made us feel loved as well as safe. They let us know when people came on the property or walked in front of the beach. Very friendly. Me and my husband had a very relaxing and adventurous honeymoon and we would love to return to Finca hopefully bringing some friends with us to rent the beach house next door. Highly recommended. Perfect location - not far from anything but far enough to have privacy. Thanks for the amazing trip!

Andrea has a phenomenal stretch of beach with a romantic private feel. You can hear the waves as you sleep and even had some snorkeling gear and bikes available. Unfortunately we had some small issues with check-in and cleanliness that prevented us from leaving a 5 star review. Mistakes happen, and overall we would recommend your stay in the cabana.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The Finca had everything we needed. Great place for the kids to play in the sand or swing in the hammock. Val was very helpful and and we had plenty of room and privacy.

This simple yet divine piece of paradise is all we could have hoped for on our trip to Placencia! Val and Jose were exceptionally helpful and sweet Marley felt like part of the family. Having the bikes made commutes to town easy, but honestly, we were happy staying in the cabana and on our beach more than we anticipated!

The cabana at Finca is exactly what you want in a beach side stay. Easy access to placencia proper, right on the beach, close to many great spots, and BEAUTIFUL! Seriously, so cute, so comfortable, so picturesque, and such a great spot. Between the kitchenette, the bathroom, the fans and the shade all over the property, it was so much better than we expected.

i was looking for a less expensive bungalow on the beach, and thats what this place is very rustic, but clean and comfortable, and steps away from the water unfortunately for us we were visiting at a bad time,it was windy everyday,so water was too rough and murky for snorkling,or fishing our last day there, was calm, and we walked to the dock and caught a couple nice fish before we had to leave the town is a easy bike ride away, with nice shops and restraunts my only issue was the kitchen sink was small and hard to wash dishes, and the stove kept going out with the wind i would definately recommend,or visit again
