Jamaica Plain is a neighborhood with cafes and locals who walk dogs, stroll with their kids, eat ice cream, and take a stand for justice in issues such as fair housing and support for local businesses.
The 39 bus to the medical area, Museum of Fine Arts, and Back Bay stops on the corner. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the subway which brings you to Back Bay, Downtown Crossing, and the Freedom Trail usually in less than 30 minutes.
This is a non-smoking, pet-free property. We keep quiet hours between 10:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. for ultimate relaxation. Come and go on your own schedule, but turn off lights and heat/AC when you aren't in the room.
The main kitchen is not a shared space, but we'll make you coffee or tea. Use the microwave and mini-fridge on the third floor, but clean up any spills.
My parents really enjoyed staying here. The place was nice and cozy with lots of natural light available. The rooms were comfortably furnished and warm. It was a convenient location to get to restaurants and public transportation. Martha and Myra were great hosts. My parents say they would definitely stay here again for future visits! :)
Martha was a great host, and was flexible when my flight cancellation suddenly changed my arrival time. The room was spacious and well-stocked with all the essentials -- I felt like I had complete privacy the entire time. The neighborhood was safe and fun, with many options for food, shopping, and just wandering around.
I had a very positive experience at Martha's. The room was just as it looks and is clean and private with its own bathroom. The location is great if you're looking for to be downtown Jamaica Plain or a quick T ride into the city. Martha and Myra were both very friendly and accommodating. Thanks for providing a cozy and quiet place to get some sleep!
