Interaction with Guests
Any of my guests should feel free to contact me, or don't contact me. At the beginning I will explain them all the details, give them all the advises and the towels. At the end I will say good bye and them of course. It is up to my guests to contact me if they need anything. But I respect their privacy.
The house is located in Portlaoise Town. It is a fascinating town with much more to attract the visitor. You can travel through all Ireland from Portlaoise in a short time (30 minutes to 2 hours using the motorway) and come back in the same day to chill out. You can go North West (Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo), South West (Cork, Kerry), West (Limerick, Galway, Clare, Mayo), East (Kildare, Louth, Meath, Wicklow) or to Dublin City. Portlaoise Town has a great nightlife and many attractions:
Emo Court (website hidden), entry to the gardens is free. Dunamase Rock 7 minutes from here.
Roscrea Heritage Center (website hidden)
Next to Portlaoise is Kildare County with many attractions like the Irish National Stud and Japanese Garden, recently visited by the Queen of England; St Brigit’s Cathedral and Round Tower built in the fifth century and Kildare Village Outlet.
Also you can visit Castletown House, Athy Heritage Centre & Museum, Curragh Race horse and many others visitor attractions.
Dublin Airport is only 50 minutes by car and 1 hour and 45 minutes by bus . The bus stop is 5 m. walking from the house. The fare is 10 euros each way by Dublin Coach (website hidden). The buses come every hour, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. Others bus services are Bus Eireann (website hidden) and J J Kavanagh and Sons (website hidden)
You can also take Luas (light rail transit system) from the Red Cow Stop to go to Dublin City. If you rent a car (that is not expensive. Don't forget to rent a GPS with it because the country side could be confusing) you can reach every part of Ireland from 1 to 3 hours. You can take the well maintained motorways or the main roads.
Other Things to Note
Portlaoise Town is really safe. we have a big hospital and a big Garda Station. 5 minutes walking from the house there is a medium supermarket, 2 restaurants (1 become a pub at night and the other one is Chinese), 1 pharmacy, 1 beauty salon and 1 pizza place. Portlaoise downtown is located 5 minutes by car or bus.
We don't smoke but if you want to smoke you can smoke in the open areas (garden and deck)
You can use the kitchen to prepare snacks, sandwiches, and hot food. Only you have to leave the things as you find them. After 10 pm it is important for us to be quiet, so everybody can get enough rest. Not a problem to go out and come back late, but just be really quiet.
Our host had been very accommodating n pleasant . Our room was clean. Nevertheless we found the shower facility a bit too intrusive into their private space. But the toilet for us was neat, tidy and clean.
If you are thinking to go to Portlaoise and spend some night there, don't look for more rooms! Just book the room of Olga's house! All were perfect; The welcoming, the bed (I slept as a kid!), the room, the cleaning of all the house, their kindness and sympathy... You will feel as in your own home :D
Thanks for this weekend Olga and Chris. It was a pleasure to meet you and to stay in your house. Hoping to see you again! Abi & Laura
Olga was a lovely host with an amazing home! Made us feel extremely welcome and helped with directing us around the town! Lovely room and very comfortable bed
Very great place, beautiful room, Olga was very friendly and welcoming. Not hesitate to stay in this place :)
Very lovely and clean house with friendly hosts not much more to say other than all the best in your studies Olga
Olga and Kriss are the best couple in the world. They made us feel so comfortable in such a stressful schedule we were going through. Every time we talked to them, they took stress away.
There is so much positive energy in the house which we felt as soon as we stepped in.
Everything is kept clean and organised, room is nice, cozy and beautiful. There are no restrictions. Fully functioning kitchen is available. We felt like we were in our own home.
We will definitely visit them whenever we come back to Ireland.
We came as a guest but left as a family. We are so lucky to have met such great persons.
Simply there are no enough words to explain their hospitality and personality.
I will highly recommend everybody who is looking for an accommodation in this area to book with them.
Thank you Olga and Kriss for having us and making us feel so comfortable.
Good luck to you, may god bless you and always stay happy.
I am an honest, friendly, fair and simple person. I like order and cleanliness. I like to eat healthy and exercise. Although occasionally I eat junk food. I love to experience different cultures and learn the good things they have. I love music, in my opinion it is the universal language. I try to live my faith consistently.
