Marian and Manuel's place was our favorite accommodation in Spain. It is a beautiful house with a wonderful history and the hosts were perfect. Manuel is always with a warm smile and despite not knowing any Spanish, we were able to relate to him well. Beatriz, their daughter speaks English very well and she was very helpful in providing all the required information regarding sights in Cordoba and logistics. Garum 2.1 was the recommended restaurant for tapas and we loved every single meal we had there. The location is perfect as it is located in the old city which has retained its charm in the midst of modernization. We stayed in a room that had family photos on the wall which added a nostalgic touch to the Spanish Moorish interior. The bathroom is shared but we loved the experience of living in a typical Spanish home. They have a lovely garden with orange and lemon trees that has a special story of its own. Breakfast is a simple meal of toast with jam and coffee/tea, laid out beautifully by Manuel daily on their family dining table accompanied by home grown little tangerines. It was nice meeting other guests and exchanging notes regarding travel in Cordoba. Upon our departure, Manuel had packed some fruits for us to have on our bus ride to another city. We would definitely return again to this place.
Excellent location of the flat, right in the city center, you can walk easily to every point of interests. The room + bathroom were clean.
On top of that our hosts were very friendly and they love their city, you'll get from them very good information to visit the city.
Emplacement idéal à Cordoba et acceuil très chaleureux de la part de nos hôtes, le tout dans une superbe maison andalouse avec petit déjeuner dans le jardinsous le soleil de printemps!! Très bonne adresse
My wife and I spent 4 days in Cordoba at Marian and Manuel's house. Marian was very responsive to our questions leading up to our stay. We unfortunately didn't get to meet her because she was in Madrid during our stay, but her husband Manuel greeted us very warmly and spent nearly an hour with a map telling us all about what there is to see and do in the city. He also took a lot of his time to help us when we had trouble booking bus online. The communication was all in Spanish, and our Spanish is limited, but we got the gist of it (it might be tough, though, if you have absolutely no Spanish at all!). Positives: absolutely perfect location in an atmospheric spot minutes from everything but away from the souvenir shops, friendly and generous host, nice breakfast, great shower. Negatives: the bed squeaked (I mean seriously!) every time one of us shifted even slightly which made it hard to get a good night's sleep; the room was a little claustrophobic with only one small window onto the courtyard, the heater didn't work (but Manuel brought us a space heater which kept us nice and warm).
Inmaculada was a most courteous and helpful hostess. The house is ideally (email hidden)e room opened onto the courtyard. It was well appointed, the bed comfortable comfortable with proper linen, duvee and pillows. Continental breakfast was fresh and well presented. The shared bathroom was a few steps across the courtyard. It was properly equipped with an excellent shower. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend a stay there.
Thank you Marian! Marian, her husband, and her daughter were the most lovely, welcoming hosts. Marian's daughter, who speaks perfect English, equipped us with maps etc. when we arrived, showed us where to park the car, and even rang up the Hammam to book us in for the evening. The house is just beautiful, and has been in the family for over a century, but was completely renovated just a few years ago. The house has a great vibe - a few international students live there as well as the family. Marian's husband made us breakfast every morning and we had a lot of fun talking to him, although we didn't speak any Spanish! It's amazing how much you can understand with a few words here and there, gestures, and some patience (on his part!). I'd really recommend staying here. The house is situated in a wonderful part of town, and the family was so kind and made me feel really welcome. Thank you!
Marian and Manuel were very friendly and helpful. They told us a lot about their home and the beautiful city of Cordoba. The room was comfortable and breakfast in the courtyard was amazing! The home is very conveniently located and within walking distance to everything in Cordoba. Thank you for a great stay!
